PEARL CITY, OAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) -

A pair of pellet gun incidents in Pearl City have police investigating.

Police say a child was hit in the back with a BB while waiting at the bus stop Tuesday afternoon.
That case has been classified as a second-degree assault.

A witness to that incident says a pair of suspects shot at their dogs from a car on the same day.
The dogs were not hit.

Call the Honolulu Police Department with any tips.

A well-placed shot with one of those things can be deadly. I kid in my neighborhood died after getting shot in the heart with a pellet gun by accident. Hope this kid is ok.

Pearl City school beefs up security after pair of pellet gun incidents

Quote
PEARL CITY, OAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) -

A pair of pellet gun crimes have Pearl City residents worried, police investigating, and a school adding security.

Travis Nakamura was doing the dishes Tuesday afternoon when he looked out his kitchen window and saw a green Toyota pull up to his Pearl City home.

"Car just came down our street, stopped in the middle of the road, the windows came down and suddenly a gun came out."

It was a pellet gun.  The passenger fired at Nakamura's two dogs which were inside the chain link fence.

"I ran outside to chase those guys away," he says.

Nakamura couldn't catch up to the car as it sped down Noelani Street.

Just minutes later and less than a mile away, a 14-year old boy at the bus stop fronting Pearl City Highlands Intermediate School was shot by a pellet gun fired from a passing car.

KHON news reported there have been a total of 6 reports of BB or pellet shootings in 5 days.

When will they start blaming the pellet gun so the state can require permits and registration??
