Title: Shooting mat recommendations
Post by: suka on December 14, 2015, 12:28:47 AM
Whats a good shooting mat to use at Kokohead?
I had been using just a beach towel before but the asphalt really does a number on the elbows.

I've had this for over 14 years through wet grass, asphalt, shooting in the desert, etc.

the yoga mat is cheaper
If shooting in the sun a black top is not ideal.

I use a simple black galati mat with wings.
Lightweight, cordura, sling for hands free carry.
Love it...could be used for camping too.

Longs carries fold-up mats, maybe it's what you guys are calling yoga mats.  I've got one in a lovely aloha print that cost me under $10.  Bought it for the Chuck Taylor sniper class years back, and it's been with me ever since!

Check out Condor sniper shooters mat on Amazon. It's a soft case, opens up to a mat and fits in the pelican 1750 when traveling.  Love mine!

Be in Hawaii by the end of Jan so, I guess one of those weekends.

I practice at less than 20ft, so Id be using it at the 25yd /50 yd , near the end of the Kokohead range. But it's always full there .

I'm always shooting there my fellow Trojan classmate.
Let me know when you'll be at Kokohead.

Are you still looking for a mat? Still on island as well???

I've got one you can have if you like, haven't used it since my last match a couple decades back ;) It's in great shape, made by Champions Choice, and configured for right handed shooters.  Again yours if you like  :shaka:
