I did my best not to look like gun nut, nobody else would step up so I did. So hold negative comments to yourself. I had to rush around to meet her and do interview. No prep time was asked questions on the spot. She seemed to think the whole fiasco was senseless her self. SO she said she had to have someone go on camera because it would be on tonight at 5PM.

I brought samples of paperwork I had on hand. asked her to omit specific names and identifiers.
In the interview I am supposedly in the shadows and voice altered. I got balls, big balls, but I am not stupid with my balls.

Hey Suka,
Your girlfriend's picture was in this segment. They showed a page off of the 2A forum and there was one of your posts. She's famous!!!
Actually, I thought the reporting was fair but a little incomplete.
Thanks Dumbgun for being a stand up person.

Great job Dumbgun !

Had Suka and Q's posts.

Overall good report.
Part that wasn't good was them showing the forum and saying that the policy is making people lie about their insurance provider ( if they have Kaiser)

Very fair and unbiased report, all things considered.
Disappointed they didn't emphasize the fact that HPD is denying Kaiser members their constitutional rights by refusing to do the investigation they're responsible for doing. Or that they're shifting the burden of proof to the doctors and the citizen when that is their responsibility.
At least they didn't try to make us out to be zealots, attempting to get around the laws.
Awesome job dumbgun!

So ponder this conspiracy theory...
According to this letter, you have to admit to previous treatment for a mental disorder or the like, even if you have never done so.
They are currently trying to sneak in a bill that states if you have received ANY metal health treatment that has been determined to impair one's ability to function according to the AMA that you will be disqualified from owning firearms and your current inventory confiscated.
Is it beyond HPD, the county and the state to use these letters as a means of 'enforcing' this new bill (should it pass), in order to confiscate firearms from people for the sole fact that they 'admitted' to being treated for a disease, disorder or addiction?
I can just see it now....
"Oh, our bad; we based our decision on the letter you used to apply. But before we give you your stuff back, you gotta jump through all these other ridiculous hoops."

So, you signed a letter stating you have been treated for psychological issues or substance addiction in order to obtain a firearm.
Now, you say you signed the letter even though it was a false official statement.
Were you lying then, or are you lying now?? :shake:

Absolutely. I wouldn't put anything past these people.
Let's not forget that His Majesty, King Obama the First, has charged his administration with enlisting the Governors in his attempt to side step the Constitution regarding gun control.
Being the good little Obamatons they are, I'm sure he can count on the cooperation of the vast majority of lawmakers here.
We should get the memberships of 2a Hawaii, HRA, and HDF, and anyone else that's willing and stage a PEACEFUL protest out in Kailua, since he'll be here for the holidays.
Could garner some national attention via the media.
Just a thought. ;)

The lie I was referring to is The wording that HPD wants us to admit that we are no" longer adversely affected" or that I was under treatment for the listed disorders they want the DR's to sign off on. Remember they edit it for the broadcast. I have never been addicted or had mental problems or organic brain disorders. I have never sought treatment or been asked or ordered to seek such treatment.

Fanny pack, Im always forgetting wallet, keys the damn phone. iIpack all my stuff so I'm ready for the next days business. I do wear a displayed fixed blade. I pointed out to reporter that I display it so if police stop me and the officer doesn't like my "attitude", he can't say I had a concealed weapon. Used to carry both a letterman and gerber multitool, both, pulled my pants down.Nobody in the news office asked me to remove it. they took video of me wearing it. Like I said they edited it and used what they wanted.

Thank you Dumbgun for representing us on the news.
Thanks! I showed them the permits for my Glock 42 and Ruger 10/22. They took pictures and I thought they would use it. I wanted to establish a time line and show That gun owners are not all about the biggest baddest, scariest guns. So the last two guns I bought with no bs from kaiser or HPD were the .380 and 22LR.
I even pointed out that even though HPD wouldn't accept kaiser patients seeking new pistol permits. My long gun permit was valid and I could of still went and bought a black scary assault weapon,

A lot of the pain caused by the new policies could be minimized if we could get the law changed to not require permits for existing gun owners.
It makes no sense to expect someone who can't get a permit due to medical issues would go through the process and risk having his existing guns confiscated. I think an annual long gun permit would satisfy the periodic background re-check and eliminate unnecessary pistol permits. They would still do the registrations as always, but we could then use the long gun permit to buy handguns as well.
Maybe that bill will be reintroduced this year? Let's hope so.

Thank you Dumbgun! You've honored the 2a community with your professionalism on camera and your advocacy. I pray that this issue will be resolved quickly.

Nice job Dumbgun.

Didn't see a reason showing the forum was a bad thing, but I do agree about people saying they should lie on their applications.
In that case, they should have shown the post and all the responses that followed, which they didn't.

Just watched the video on the link Q posted earlier, good job Dumbgun

Nice job dude.

Someone needs to file law suits against both HPD and Kaiser.
Making them pay out millions for infringement of constitutional rights should be incentive enough to change their policy.

Good job dumbgun! You gave a good sense of reasonable frustration. Awsome.

Great job. Good, positive representation of Oahu's law abiding gun owners!

Thanks DG for the good job.

Just sent fox news an email requesting they do a story. Fingers crossed. Im all activisted out. Passing the torch anybody willing to pick it up?
One last suggestion for CCW, An empty holster protest. Basically we walk around wearing an empty holster. Hopefully people will get used to it and not fear it. Kind of like what the gays did. Out and proud ,except we would be defenseless and boisterous.
Or maybe we create our own gun owners voting block. Kind of like a union. The only requirement is we get a registry of gun owners who agree to vote for a candidate who will obey the constitution. No fees no membership, No fund raisers. Just be actual legal gun owners. Who all agree to vote for candidate will not infringe. No other political considerations. What I mean is pro gun rights only. Make the politicians come to gun owners and Kiss our butts. They want our vote to get elected and stay elected. That is the political favor they must pay off.
Long day at work, I'm typing crazy.

Thank you Dumbgun
By the way submitting a letter saying you no longer have issues when you never had any issue is providing "false information" which in itself is grounds to not be issued a permit.

Per the aforementioned, this is called being placed in a "crazy making situation" or "damn if you do...damn it you don't". However, within the context of what we are discussing perhaps we need to careful in not implying that "we" are in a "crazy or insane" situation. In discussing this issue with others, I refer to situation as an excellent example of incompetence or stupidity...pick one.
Legislative session soon to open.
