He sounds like a disinfo worm who figured out he could make a lot more money plying his trade in for the John Birch Society than he could on the other side of the iron curtain.

Watch his full documentary, he explained why he left knowing what's at stake and risking his life to let the truth out, he did it on moral ground, he couldn't lie to himself anymore with the direction the Soviet Union was going, he grew up as a "political upper class" that benefited from socialism, he is former kgb, he questioned himself why he should do what he did when he had such a great life living comfortably and deceiving other foreigners in politics that hold power, the documentary has a bunch of pictures of him with explanations of what his biography was. He escaped by hiding among the socialist left college hippies smoking pot all day, the kgb was terrifying in their plans

Seen this video on youtube via channel "the greatest truth nevertold" and its definitely interesting. Plus that channel had a bunch of other great information as well. :o
