Title: Can 556 AR accept some kind of 308/762 drop-in upper?

Is there such a thing?

Change upper and change mags, and good to go?

Yeah i know... But the previous replies already covered that being a definite no. So i covered the other other option!

Post by: SpeedTek on March 11, 2016, 04:58:23 PM: Colt has a convertible out. It uses an adapter magwell for the 308. There are bolt action uppers available for the 556 lower. But they are single shot. Just buy a AR308 based on DPMS Pattern. There are a lot of parts available compared to Armalite AR10's. All the good barrels made are all AR308. To make one for the AR10 you end up making custom barrels.
