Between your run of the mill DPMS, CMMG, Rock River, Spikes etc. are there things I need to look out for, are most/all sourced from the same place? The only thing I know for sure is it's for a Spikes Lower,,,

Comparing the milspec parts, springs, pins, detents, controls like safety , mag release, bolt catch, buffer tube, those parts are pretty much the same.
Trigger, trigger guard, pistol grip, butt stock, those parts may differ

Thanks, probably going to order basic parts kits without Triggers and add everything else ala carte.

The bcm lpk is a great deal imo
-
Single biggest thing to look out for is milspec versus commercial. Pin sizes are different as well as buffer tube.

interested as well, Ive looked the bcm kit but those are all sold out, Ive been looking at ALG, any info on this kit?

There can be differences in materials and spec tolerances can vary. There are common parts manufacturers who supply parts, but not all are equal. Some do their own parts 100%.
Generally purchasing parts from a quality company will be gtg. Understanding who those companies are is another thing. Anything ALG is gtg as they are just an offshoot of Geissele.

I've been wanting to try the ALG stuff for a while. Particularly the QMS and other "lower" end (read inexpensive ;D ) trigger groups.
Since the last shortage of everything AR related, I still have a few LPKs. One DD and a couple that were reported "mil-spec" that were assembled in a group buy. I've built one lower with one of those and it seemed just fine. I bought those because there were a good price at a time when you just couldn't find LPKs. That said, I'd personally stick with LPKs from the usual suspects, like DD, BCM, LMT, ALG, etc.

If I had known ALG made one I would have gone with it, thanks for the info.
