Don't think of that stuff when someone is intending to cause harm to me or my family.  And still wont.

While the statements in the article may be true, consider the fact that it is presented by a company trying to convince you to buy a $400 per year insurance policy.

I heard of this sometime early last year.  I would sign up for this if we ever get CCW.

If anyone's interested. here's a podcast about it http://welikeshootingpodcast.com/072/

This just gave me a very scary thought.

What happens if the state requires you to buy insurance of this type for your firearms but no insurance companies are willing to sella  policy to cover the terms the law mandates?

Or will the free market follow through since if there is a demand someone will find a supply.... just that it may be very expensive.

you can almost count on it
there was already a bill this year in the leg that would require gun owners to have liability insurance

That's why we all need to vote no matter what.   HI has one of the worst voting percentage.

Josh Green has already proposed a bill regarding LAW ABIDING gun owners to have insurance for their firearms AND to have the firearms re-registered too. Forget what the time period was, I think it was every 3 years..anyway it was something stupid

DC had a re registration law shot down as unconstitutional,  as for insurance i think it would go the same way, Most home owners insurance policy's have some sort of coverage, but dedicated self defense insurance could be worth it, i think i seen an NRA add for $125 a year for $25k coverage in lawyers fees, Like others once we get concealed carry i will be carrying coverage,

What we really need is laws in hawaii protection people from civil lawsuit in cases of people being injured/killed whilst committing a crime.
