Are there any guidelines when using steel targets at Koko Head ? There seem to be more rules lately and I just wanted to check.

Gotta be at or between the 100 yrd holes and the berm. The RO's will usually give it a look ultimately it's up to them there really is no written guidance.

Be sure that hanging targets are anchored at two points. Had a guy getting his @$$ chewed by a RO today. Dude compounded the problem by saying "The guys at [insert the names of two gun shops here] said it would be ok.". Ultimately it will be up to the RO on duty to decide. The RO told the dude "Mike Muramoto is the range master and he makes the rules. His rules say it needs to be anchored at two points, so that's the way it has to be."

You can place them at 50 yards if you're shooting .22 only. I think you could probably make a case for .17, but I'd ask first!

I saw the fabtek display at the gun show.
He makes a nice khsc rifle frame with two hanging plates. Each plate hangs on a single robust hinge.
I would hope that design was approved before being manufactured.
