Parents being greedy f*cks, the new "normal".
Had a similar experience at an Easter egg hunt at Koko Head District Park some years ago with my daughter. Parents and kids alike being aggressive like their lives depended on getting the "free stuff".
Disgusting.

They wont. Thats their voting base.
Living wage. Free college. Smart people will realize that someone has to pay for it. It certainly wont be those who use it. So how much of people who use free college programs will graduate? How many of them would turn around and say "Thank you America for the free college...Im going to make this country great!"
And when businesses rely less on labor and more on automation and IT? One example is Uber. Traditional taxi companies didnt embrace IT and now they are crying to legislators. Who is hindering progress? Instead of legislators looking at the bigger picture and keeping in touch with their "liberal progressive" views what dos they do? Treat companies like Uber as foreign businesses.
So going back to what their voting base want...marijuana legalization, tax the rich. All contrary to American values. The rich dont use the majority of social welfare programs and certanly dont need it, so why are we taxing them? Is being rich in America a crime? All the reasons of taxing them are socialist. All these victim stories of being poor are heartwrenching indeed but should serve as incentives to work harder, reassess our lives ( should I have more kids, can I afford it?) In relation to worldwide poverty Americans arent so bad.
America is still the greatest nation on Earth but we are slipping diwn a slope. This Easter egg hunt gone awry is a small indicator of sociall ills. The govt.'s policy of giving what they want is the cause of things like this. Reminds me of that Natalie Merchant song when she was with 10,000 Maniacs. Candy what they want.
