Title: Ground Walnut Shells
Post by: SpeedTek on November 21, 2011, 10:46:07 AM
I read other forums about finding Ground Walnut Shells cheap at Pet Stores.  They mostly use them for snakes which we dont have here!

Anyone know where to find it at pet stores here?

Petco none.
Kalihi Pets $12.99 I think for 5 lbs (out till this Wed.)

If you're referring to Lizzard Litter or whatever it's called, the crushed walnut bedding...  I called Petco in Kapolei approx 3 months and they had in stock.  Wait for their circulars in the sunday paper, sometimes it goes on sale.

I went to the Pearl City PETCO. I asked for Crushed Walnut Shells and they looked at me funny.  When I metioned it was used for Lizards or Snakes they really looked at me funny.
The salesman said we don't have those in Hawaii so we don't carry it!  I said OK. and left... He probably thinks I got them critters.

Found some at the Pet Depot in Ewa Beach, but I believe I grabbed their last bag. Tonight I was at Wal-Mart in the pet section and noticed that Arm n Hammer makes a corn fiber kitty liter, never tried it though since I'm still new to reloading.

I would guess that any kitty litter is not going to hold up well in your tumbler.  I would guess that it will turn to dust.

$15 bucks for 11 quarts. It felt like it was about 10 lbs.
