If you are on a computer go to your thread page scroll all the way to the bottom of the page in the lower left corner there is a (Lock Topic) button click that and it will fall off the active page eventually. Only mods can delete a thread. If your item sold you could indicate that prior to locking your thread as a courtesy to others and to keep from getting bothered in the future. If it didn't sell you could note what ever disposition you choose or not.

Hopefully this isn't about getting ribbed about the clips...
