I think the burn time is 30 min.
-
Costco Hawaii Kai has about 10 left, as of this morning. Bought mine about 6-8 months ago price was $450 i think, or around there. Now $399.

Does that thing have a key backup or mechanical override?
-
Awfully small safe. Not very fire proof.
I forget this is Hawaii where we have to beg
to own a gun. "Please sir can I have another"?
Please forgive my sarcasm.

I did see it a few months ago and I think 14 guns is a stretch.

You could fit 14 handguns no problem. No way you're fitting 14 rifles in there. It is better than nothing though especially with Sports Authority going out of biz

i always cut the number of guns the safe is advertised for in half

has anyone tried to buy a rifle safe online and ship to hawaii? when i bought this one from costco 6 months ago i tried unsuccessfully to purchase from 4 different websites with all saying "unable to ship to this address(here on Oahu)". Cabala's, walmart, Sportsman's Guide, Lowes, all denied. they didnt offer any shipping options, just "unable to ship". if i remember correctly one site actually said, "unable to ship due to firearm restrictions" or something like that.

I've tightly fit 10 long guns (no optic mounted tho) and 8 handguns...I used my own door organizer and those rods

No but you can get one at home depot, Will open the door in about 10 minutes

-
If you want to just stand stuff up i would say it will hold 12 rifles without optics, I have shelf's on one half of mine and have 5 guns i can maybe squeeze 1 more in but if i want to get anything out except the front one, Everything has to come out.

Gun Tetris hahaha

Haha that's funny.
Actually, I saw that safe a few months ago at costco and I knew there was no backup solution.
Cannot trust electrnonic only locks.

That's pretty much where I am at right now with my guns and safe. My Rem 700 with scope takes up a bunch of space as well as my LMT with Comp M4s. My other ARs (one without dot) and AK take up one slot each. I could probably fit a couple more rifles in there, but I'd have to have them sort of front/back/front/back arrangement. Kind of like the up/down/up/down when you tried to jam more people in the back seat of your car. Then I'd have to pretty much dig to get a particular gun out. Right now, my safe is pretty close to max capacity where I can get any rifle out without moving other guns. My safe also has a shelf where I have my handguns and even that space is becoming a damn puzzle. I should buy a larger safe, but that will mean more open spots that "need" to be filled. ;D

In my storage on the mainland I have a 12 gun safe that I have had 22 long arms in. You have to just experiment with how they fit. Some I put in muzzle down. Some flat against the back wall etc. gun Tetris.

Anyone know if it's still in stock? Save me the drive. Thanks

In all seriousness tho, This is not a gun safe that would stop a half determined thief The below image is the inside of my stackon (pretty much the same thing) These can be opened with a sledge hammer reasonably quickly easily, Just break of the dial and pond the bolt holding the dicks in place, Insert finger or wire and slide the bolts open.

Any safe is better than my first "safe", which consisted of a plastic DD case that came with my DD AR and stored under my bed. The case was locked of course. :P
I eventually want a walk in closet/gun safe. One of my buddies in AZ has one and I'm not jealous at all. . . :(

Not the actual room (can't find the pic), but pretty damn close. Add a reloading/work bench with all sorts of tools and that's about it. :o

Debatable, A cheap safe gives a false sense of security, You put your valuables in their thinking they are protected but in reality they are all in one place making it easier for criminals to find and take all at one time.

Dont buy a $500 safe to protect $10k in guns :)
That being said most people spend $20 on a door lock to protect their whole house.

I was looking at it yesterday.
There is a hole where the interior outlet strip is mounted.
I would guess that a power cord, similar to computer power cords, fits in that hole.

Seriously consider a safe with a mechanical backup method of operation.

Saw at least 2 in boxes at HI Kai Costco. They were discounted $50 at $349.

I just wanted to add that anyone owning a safe like this, or any safe sold at Costco, Sams or an equivalent safe elsewhere (since they are pretty generic China made and re-branded safes) should understand that they are more of a glorified or upgraded security cabinet that does provide some fire protection, instead of a true safe meant to safeguard valuables. Also be aware that electronics fail, it is not a matter of if, but a matter of when and there is no key backup. I will say that there are some decent electronic lock / keypad makers out there.
The good and bad is that they are not overly complicated to get into. Manual labor can open them, but there is the worry of damaging what may be inside. A locksmith will cost as much as the safe. If you know what you are doing if you know what you are doing, you don't need a single tool other than a piece of wire and about 5 mins, usually much less, skill dependent. No drilling, no punching, no hammering, no axes, nada.

These Costco safes are Electronic and the internals are a bit different, but not overly complicated to break into.

The electronics ones are even easier, shim the hinge side of the door push the rest button and enter a new code,

I am not a safe "expert" and having said that, you rarely if ever find "gun " style safes still built like that in the last maybe ~10+ years or so. Even the most basic model electronic locks and Keypads produced these days that are used pretty much universally by safe makers, even the Chinese manufacturers, use a keycode on the keypad for resetting the combo. I cannot think of any of the "gun" style safes sold from Costco or Sams as an example that have a reset button and I am pretty sure that this particular safe discussed here does not have one either. Of course some people have old safes and while certain makes / models are easy enough and while perhaps similar not all resets are in the same location or made the same.

I ended up buying the safe referenced here, Liberty Safe Revolution 24 at Sam's Club
