The sort of garbage from a liberal Hawaiian politician you would expect, not a hint of islamic terrorism link or possible issues with letting hundreds of them into the country being a problem.
Just those horrible guns! We must do something!
"Friends,
Another impossible tragedy to contemplate - dozens dead at the hands of a madman.
Our Congress needs to set its partisanship aside and pass meaningful, impactful gun legislation right now.
Translation: WTF are you waiting for?
Once again we see tragedy strike our citizens because a maniacal person was able to run amok.
My personal opinion is:
1) There is absolutely no need for assault weapons in society.
2) We can do a much better job of helping people with mental illness.
Make this our national policy. Stop the sale of these weapons and fund mental health services everywhere.
I hope that we can start here. This doesn't have to be a political impasse, or a new moment to demonize those on one side of the issue or the other.
Just close your eyes and imagine for a second that it was your beautiful son or daughter, husband or wife, lover or best friend who was senselessly gunned down last night. If that isn't enough for us in America to act then I don't know what is.
Sincerely,
Josh Green, MD
State Senator, Hawaii
ER Physician"

And that it is - his PERSONAL opinion which I won't give a penny. Dr. Green keep your thought to yourself. No need to make a soap box on top of a gurney.
in other words stop spending your money on exercising your fundamental rights as a citizen and start spending more money on mental health i.e more drugs and counseling
Perhaps Dr. Green can be our state ambassador to ISIS and reason with them - tell them to stop their outreach efforts to the West.

Well, I'd have to admit I agree with one thing he wrote: "I don't know...".
That about sums up my experience with Mr. Green, who may have finished medical school, but flunked out of kindergarten in critical thinking skills school.

A purely emotional appeal, which is what all anti-gun zealots use. Not one rational problem-solving recommendation!
Banning so-called assault weapons would not stop a single mass shooting. Either the shooter can get one of the millions of rifles already owned and (I assume) grandfathered, can get a black market gun, or uses something just as effective. VA Tech involved 2 handguns, and until this weekend, held the record for highest body count from US mass shootings. The Boston Marathon killings used crock pot bombs! Ban away, but you can never ban every possible weapon that can kill many people quickly.

Was this sent out from his .gov email?

Let's check Hillary Clinton's email server...

Was this sent out from his .gov email?
I don't know if he sent emails via his .gov account, but it's on his facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/SenatorJoshGreen
I don't normally open any facebook pages (Did anyone else see that genius Zuckerberg's account got hacked, partially due to him using a two-letter password...?), but I wanted to make sure this wasn't a parody of stupidity. It's not. It's real stupidity.

Dunno, but this looks like a political address?

Tried to reply to it and it bounced back.

Got it thanks. I wanted to reply also. I think I will try his .gov address, sengreen@capitol.hawaii.gov

I'd encourage everyone to send him your critiques of his stated positions. I burned my bridges with him last year when I relentlessly fisked a series of 4 or 5 emails exchange with him pointing out the obvious flaws of his logic, lack of evidence, and outright falsehoods that he presented to defend his positions. He seems rather thin-skinned. He has never responded to another email from me since then, and I suspect he doesn't even look at them. Help me out! :shaka:

To the Dr,
What is your proposal for dealing with this terrorist threat to this nation, and to the increasing casualties that will result from unvetted open influx of people that seek to kill us? What is your solution when encountering such massive violence when you have nothing to fend against such violence? Do you suggest calling 911?

Yep, everybody should respond to him, if for no other reason to show that "we" have some numbers and that he's going to be fighting an uphill battle in the next legislative session. With the success "they" enjoyed this year, it would behoove us to start early and keep up the pressure.
Use this as a starter: https://mic.com/articles/64663/5-people-who-used-an-ar-15-to-defend-themselves-and-it-probably-saved-their-lives#.tyMBBiHLg
I also like to point out the hypocrisy of calling the AR15 an "assault weapon" if "we" own it, but referred to as a "patrol rifle" or a "personal defense weapon" if the DHS owns it....
Another hypocrisy is the "if it saves just one life, it's worth it..." that only seems to apply to gun control efforts and not examples of lawful self defense.
Or, maybe you could point out how many people are injured or killed by doctors every year....

Big island residents need to vote him out.
Same thing with Oahu residents needing to vote Karl Rhoads and friends out.

Karl is vacating his present position to run for a state senate position, so at least he got rid of himself. Hopefully he doesn't win a senate seat.

We should find out who the opponent is and support them if they're pro-2A.

Response,
I definitely support major security measures, including people in uniforms and in civilian clothes undercover to assist in a response. I don't however support assault weapons in public...
Thank you Doctor, for your reply. Every public place, space, and venue is to be patrolled 24-7 with military like presence for the foreseeable future? If there is not enough funding and/or personelle to cover all public spaces and venues possible, where a terrorist or mass murder may victimize, what is the recourse for the victims of the crime? Are they or their families to be compensated for the failure of protection from harm?
I support the military and major sanctions, economic controls and pressing the Arab nations that work with us to clean up this mess with us as well.

I did propose a piece of legislation for liability coverage - there are solutions that I would accept that would be true compromises - both sides would have to give...
Hahha lol, so the police are going to be liable for everyone's personal safety?
-
It is obvious that Dengue fever is still affecting Josh Green. That or he's smoking the gonja. One has to wonder why someone would leave a medical career to become a politician. If i'm not good at something I usually move on to something else.

You'll never get him out. Not as long as you have the non productive trash voting for him.

Not sure how the above applies. I think he meant liability coverage in case you act stupid with your piece.
-
"So the police will liable for everyone's personal safety from crime and murder. That is a large burden to require of our already overstretched, undermanned, police force."
Not the point or the approach
"I would just like to understand. If I am to give up my rights, to own a certain type of firearm, I just want to know what type of protections I will get in return. If my family is attacked in public or private at home, what type of protection can I expect? I will be giving up the best equalizing measure to defend my family and/or home."

I hope I am not making his trip a bad one... :D

I don't know... I specifically asked about how his 'proposal' would cover ifwhen his police state did not cannot protect me or my family.
