HPD has not updated their firearms page since February 1, 2016. The only fee listed is the $14.75 for first time applicants FBI finger printing fee. Unless you are going to go early give them a call first and ask.

I've never understood why they don't just round it up to an even dollar amount to make easier on everyone involved, since they have an "exact change only" policy.

What would cause more inconvenience to firearms owners? I don't believe "make it easier" is anywhere in their lexicon. (Here on the Big Island we must pay with a cashiers check or money order, so we have to go to another location (bank, post office, etc.) first, thus increasing the time and inconvenience even more so).
On a (slightly) less sarcastic note, I believe the law says they can only charge the actual cost to them, so it's the FBI's fault. They've got the costs down to the penny. Funny how it came out a rather round/currency convenient number. Not $14.74 or $14.76. Weird how that worked out.

Just called as of this morning business as usual

I'm still waiting for a call back and/or email responses to my questions posed to the AG about when the law that is in effect since last Thursday will be enforced.
-
Yup. Seemed like business as usual. One of my buddies is temporarily assigned to the records department while he's rehabbing. I asked him to ask around in the firearms section about RB. Nothing yet.

Don't we have till July 1st to register and not be put on that illegal list?
-
Looks we have until they get the memo and put their subscription in.
-
The law went into effect as of signing (so Friday) HPD charging $14.75 is illegal (unless this is the new fee). not conducting the background check via rapback is illegal.
-
Reportedly the new fee is gonna be $62.75.
$14.75 for fingerprinting.
$30 for a State background check.
$13 FBI Rapback fee
$5 State Rapback fee
Per Major Richard Robinson.

whoa are those fees a one time deal or is it paid before each registration? confusing because the fingerprinting was a one time deal, then they started adding fingerprints and pictures to the long gun permits.
ive seen the $5 and $13 fees reported in some articles about the whole rapback thing but i didnt know itd get as high as 62 bucks. fuck.
-
Must be a one time fee.
Except I don't know about that $30 State background check fee he's talking about.
I would guess it's all the above fees except the fingerprint for renewal long gun applicants.
Rapback fees for new registrants. (One time as it's a lifetime subscription)
This won't be until after they get the memo and set it up of course.
Note: pure speculation on my part.
-
Yeah, that $13 RapBack fee is the charge for a lifetime enrollment. I don't know, maybe if you're a Hindu or just believe in reincarnation they'll hit you up for $26 or $39, just to make sure you're covered. (http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/images/smilies/facepalm.gif)

Don't bring anything. Refuse consent to be placed on monitoring like a criminal

Would do this but got some new guns coming (dt mdr) in that unfortunately I can't leave unregistered :(

aren't they required to update info on their webpage first?
