Congratulations on your purchase.
In case you are unfamiliar with the process, I do have an open invitation to the 2A brothers to come to my house to get a little education.

I drooped into WGS and my intention was to just check ammo prices, I have whatched a few reloading videos and such and have been interested, but you walk into the store and the first thing you see is a bunch of presses setup and supplies everywhere. So i start asking questions and next think i know im getting a full tutorial, they helped me setup my press and walked me through each step. First class service.

That being said im definitely up for some learning and will hit you up for some edjamaction.

ok so i just made/pressed my first lot, and i have a couple questions, When seating primers some of them flipped over or turned sideways. What causes this and can i just de prime them to get them out ?

Sorry, I don't have that lee primer feeder thing.
But usually, flipped primers are caused by something snagging in the feed system.
Causing the primer to jump around while moving into position.

Re. Depriming upside downprimer, the correct answer is NO.
but I have done it in the past by moving the handle very slowly.

In addition to what OldF suggested, be sure to wear safety glasses.

London good time to buy reloading stuff and start into reloading in case of  upcoming restrictive ammo laws.   Many people have that press.

Ramshot True blue 4.8 grains (autodisk .32)  and  115g Hornady FMJ RN bullets
....
Hmmm...
Ramshot recommends closer to 6 grains of true blue for that weight of bullet.
True blue is a slower burning propellant better suited for high pressure high velocity loads.
You might get weak ejection and/or dirty burn. Like unburnt powder.
See the pdf file attached.

One thing is you need to test loads to see which will work best for you.  The data given is a minimum (ie won't squib the barrel) and max (ie won't blow you up).  Somewhere in between is the load your gun will like.

Don't load up so many.  Load only a few of each charge weight with small incremental increase in charge until you find the load that has the balance between speed and accuracy.

Also do research on signs of over pressure in the primer and case.  If you come across these signs in your test ammo stop the load at that point.

Well, let's just say that you won't blow yourself up at 4.8 gr.

Just save that pdf file from the powder manufacturer for future reference.
It would be good to have a powder scale to confirm the actual weight.
Drop by my house some time.

Also. Take it slow. Especially at first.  Make sure you are checking each round has powder AND check you don't accidently double charge.

Agreed.
However you will find that load data from different sources can differ greatly.
So I typically research several sources to see if there is some general consensus before starting a project.
Obviously, the powder manufacturers are a really, really good place to start looking.
The internet makes things so easy nowadays.

I recently sold my Lee classic cast turret press. The ease of use is hard to beat. The Lee auto disk powder measure throws very consistent. The caliber change is so easy. Lee auto prime system is super easy to use and swap between small and Large. I really wish I had not sold it.
I now use the Dillon 550b. The Press is great. I was one of the lucky ones that got a free 550b for taking a survey in April. Caliber changes on the 550b is much more expensive. All in all, I still believe the turret press is the best buy for the cost of components.

HELL NO, i took that shit right into my office and closed the door. Its currently bolted to one of  my desks  until i build out a real space (i want to put it on my deck (covered) but im worried about moisture and weather) My garage i think is a non starter because its open to the street.

Lol.
Good luck with that.
If she gets curious, you could say it will help save money so it was worth the expenditure.
Deny any wrongdoing. Tell her that your friends recommend it so you just followed their advice.
Say that it will help you become more skillful by allowing you to practice more often.
That extra skill will make your family safer.
Think like a politician. Spin it hard.

Hpd had a loading machine like that in 38 special.
It was housed where the skeet range is today.
I don't know what happened to it.

i don't trust that auto disk.  a lot of my charges varied when i used it to load 9mm.  also, i wouldn't trust the published disk size and the output charge.  i suggest you verify those charges with a decent scale before you continue to use it.

i also prime all of my cases by hand so i don't end up with flipped primers

Can you better explain the flipped primer issue you were having?

The Lee manual primer pans that I have are pretty good about putting the primer on the seater correct side up.  The only issues I ever have with them is that when it gets down to the last 1 or 2 primers it gets sticky and doesn't want to let them out.

The primer drops into the seater just fine, when I raise the knob to seat the primer something is causing a small number of them to flip, out of 100 8 were upside down or sideways

Huum....  That is strange.  All I can think of is may be a piece of cleaning media is on the seater?  Or the large seater is in there instead of the small primer seater?  or the cup that holds them is a little too large out of spec?  Once the primer is inside that cup in the correct orientation, it is very difficult for it to flip or turn.

Agree
Not sure how the Lee is set up, but on my Dillon 550, I had an issue where once it was a worn feeder tube where the primer die came bck and "clipped " the tube and another where the seating die was ever so slightly mis-aligned with the shell plate.
Both instances occassionaly flipped a primer.

careful when depriming as the pin can set the primer off.  What ive done in the past is soak the entire case in water ( dissolve the priming material) then press it out. Causes you to lose the primer but the case will live on to shoot another day. :shaka:

Yes, I went to the range on Friday, Fired of 50-60 rounds. as you said the powder was a little low resulting in 2 stovepipes.
I also had a squib load which luckily resulted in a failure to feed, Lesson learnt i will be a lot more careful from now on and will be weighing my ammo for consistency (I got a decent scale now)

Mathematically, that 115 gr bullet would use puka #40.
Alternatively, you could keep the #32 puka and put a 147 gr bullet on top.
I can give you some 147 gr bullets if you want to try that....manuahi.

Are you planning on weighing the completed round?  That won't work.  The cases will have too much deviation to give you any useful data.  Best bet is to spot check powder drops while loading.  Lee auto disk is fairly consistent.

Yes I tried that when I first started. On rifle rounds, it's easy to tell if you didn't charge a round. On 9mm, the variance in case and bullet is more than most powder charges. I charge my whole tray than visually inspect the charge than seat and crimp. I'm using several single stage presses set up for each function so it's no problem for me.
