yeah, opens at noon
usually not bad on weekdays, most times there are the most people there when it opens
at 2 pm there are lots of empty benches

I go Fridays here and there.  Can be hit or miss, but as mentioned above, it can be crowded when it opens up.  In the past couple of months, I would say that it is full to start with maybe half the times I was there.  Even if full to start, usually have at least a couple of open benches after the second or third relay.  I usually just go early, have something to eat and some coffee at the range and relax for a bit before it opens.

Yup.  Not to knock on what other's priorities are and what they are willing to do, but on weekends, I'm almost surely going to be still sleeping at 4 am!

Could fit a a bunch more people on the rifle range if they take out some benches and install the case deflectors like on the metallic range.

I recall there was a point in time where the benches were getting taken by around 7 am on the weekends.  Due to high ammo prices, I was going much during the weekends during that time.  But it was definitely crazy.  I rarely shoot rifle on the weekends nowadays, but if I do, I'll usually wait until later in the afternoon and there's usually a lot of space.

Its not about people complaining about it if you get caught its a $100 ticket for the first time and it goes up each time after.

Just saying...  You are in a place with burning powder, lead, and dust...

Most liberal vice laws are ridiculous and idiotic, and are only in place so they can tax the hell out of you, and does noting to protect the health or safety of nothing except their ever expanding coffers.

Thanks everyone!  I didn't see any signs or read anything on the website.  Good to know.  I don't have $100 bucks to spend on fines.

Are BBQ's allowed in the grassy area at Koko Head?  I was thinking about having a group shoot then a BBQ.

That would be cool.  Just don't light up a freaking cig or stogie......

Can't wait till they ban guns, we'll have people posting:
GUN ARE ILLEGAL

sorry... :stopjack:

Not sure of the rules, but we've BBQ (charcoal) in the action bags many times. Like anything, I would say just be sure to clean up afterwards and don't give people reason to complain and "clarify/enforce" the rules.

The silhouette guys fire up their charcoal grill every month after the .22 Fun Match. Maybe you can borrow theirs.
