Like a farging idiot, I did not go to the local Sports Authority and buy out all the Co2 carts before they closed.
Now as I run low, I am finding no one will ship the damn things to Hawaii. I have two Co2 pistols, a Crosman 2240 single shot and an ancient 600 semi-auto that need the stuff.
Anyone know of a source or a mainland outfit that will ship to Hawaii?
Otherwise, I have two paperweights in the near future. Do not think you can convert a Co2 gun to run like a PCP.

GDamnit. Go to Walmart, not stocked, try to order:
Due to state restrictions this item can't be shipped to 96740 or picked up in stores nearby.

Ahh, wrong island.
The quote above was taken from Walmart's site when I tried ship to store since Kona WM does not carry them.
This magnificent seclusion on the BI bites you in the ass when it comes to shipping and availability.

time to convert to bulk fill...............

What about Kmart ?
-
Try Ebay, I cant actually find a restriction on shipping them so im sure some one will.

Had not thought about them, did not think they would sell that sort of thing.
Then again, bought my 10/22 for $56 from a Kmart decades ago. Wish I had had it shipped here. :(

Try logging in a Hawaii zip code to estimate shipping. You'll see. Alaska has to put up with the same crap................

It's probably considered a pressurized container, so may be banned from air mail.
Try bicycle shops, they're used as tire inflators.

Believe it or not, they use16g threaded tubes, not compatible, same BS restrictions.
Had a fit getting recharge kits for our inflatable PFDs for the boat, finally found a boat store that would ship ground. Seems like most places just do not want to bother calculating ground shipping or something.

FYI, if you are considering bringing CO2 cartridges back from the mainland:
Like paintball guns, Airsoft guns are perfectly fine to transport in your checked baggage,
and as with BB and pellet guns, there is no need to declare them as you would a real firearm.
There are also Airsoft grenades and mortars that look realistic. These are not OK in carry-on or
checked baggage. Keep in mind that if your gun uses compressed gas cartridges, those are
prohibited as well. CO2 cartridges are only permitted with life vests and mechanical limbs.

I am still kicking myself in the ass for not thinking about this when SA was shutting down.

Looks like Kmart got 'em in Kona

If you get hard up enough to try it, I know there are nitrous oxide cartridges close to or possibly the same size as CO2 cartridges. My buddy's dad used them for something when he worked on aircraft. They also use them in food preparation for things like whipped cream (not like the profiles cans in the grocer store, more like bulk preparation). Call around to some restaurant supply stores, bring a spent CO2 cartridge or a list of dimensions, and see if they'd work. If the nitrous cartridges are smaller in length then add a dowel rod spacer, if they're smaller in diameter maybe wrap them in tape or cut a piece of pipe for a reusable sleeve. Just an idea, hope it helps.

Check a paintball store.
Bicycle stores might also have them as they have a system for refilling bicycle tires using them.

This is what he being paid to be here for.

Try sporting places that sells life jackets like a kayak or surf store.
You can also try ace or city mill or Home Depot. I think plumbers use it too.
-
Aloha Rob,
If the boat store doesnt work out try redrockminnesota.com thats where we get our co2 for our automatic rat traps. We use 16g threaded but they carry threaded and unthreaded cartridges of 12g as well. Hope this helps!

Or merely an educational comment.

Fairly sure all PFD cartridges are bigger, and threaded.
Ace looked like they would send an order to my local store, but get an email this morning the it was canceled.
Kmart has them did an online order to be picked up today, will see if it is really there.

I was just in my Walmart here on Oahu and they had boxes of them. Locked up with the air rifles. I wonder why they will ship them here but won't ship them to the Big Island?

Yeah. if air shipping is a big deal, I am sure they load up the barges with their Chinese crap to ship over all the time.
Just picked up two boxes of 25 at the local Kmart.. Someone here tipped me off to them and sure as heck. They only have the 15 count stuff on display, but I could order the 25 count online and pick up in store.

You better load up at K-mart as they are owned by Sears and both chains stores' are closing at a fast pace.

Amazon just let me get all the way through checkout with them. Also, when I've had problems getting gas cartridges for a portable nailer, Ebay came through like a champ.

Interesting if it does ship. As soon as it goes to the address to ship to page, TILT lights up for me. Seems to be a universal restriction on air shipment of the damn things.
My usage is on hold until I finish the rebuild of my old gas hog Co2 pistol.

There is a lot sitting on the shelf at pearl city walmart.
See pics

Yabbut, the bastards will not ship to my local store, and I cannot fly it over here myself.
My ancient Crosman 600 semiauto is torn completely apart for new seals anyway, so not using gas up at the time. That old gun only gets about 30 shots per cartrdge, so much is wasted by the semiauto action.

Sorry I didn't catch on that you are on the island of Hawaii.

I bought a box of Crosman CO2 12g cylinders at the J Hara Store in Kurtistown.

Good to know if Kmart stops carrying them. Long drive though............
