I really like that Alan Yim guy!

Per the news, voting rate not even 30%. Must get plenny ainokeas.
If the voting rate is low even in the general, this is a good example of why every vote counts even in dark blue states. Not wrong in this case to be a single issue voter especially if that issue could take your assets, your freedom or your life.

Let's hope our 2A candidates win! Just pau voting :shaka:

Caldwell and Djou head to runoff election in November, Thank God Carlisle conceded defeat.

sadly looking at the numbers... Unless there is some kind of huge revolution in turnout in the general....... Looks like nothing much will change here in Hawaii.... :'(

Election results are pretty pathetic (less than 40% voter turnout)
This also pretty much confirms that we know that there won't be a 3rd party. Hawaii elections will be more of the same.
Total registration: 726,940
Total turnout: 252,703 (34.8%)
- Precinct turnout: 96,186 (13.2%)
-- Democratic Party: 75,340 (10.4%)
-- Republican Party: 18,535 (2.5%)
-- Nonpartisan Ballot: 673 (0.1%)
-- Libertarian Party: 458 (0.1%)
-- Special Only: 776 (0.1%)
- Absentee turnout: 156,517 (21.5%)
13.2%)
-- Democratic Party: 126,925 (17.5%)
-- Republican Party: 24,826 (3.4%)
-- Nonpartisan Ballot: 1,665 (0.2%)
-- Libertarian Party: 563 (0.1%)
-- Special Only: 1,835 (0.3%)
As for Djou, he needed 50%+1 to win outright. General election doesn't look good for Djou.
:(

Good on everyone who went and voted yesterday :shaka: . Dont believe in the "participant award" especially on something like voting .But we figure if you still have your voting ticket bring it by and we will get you a little discount.

If Hawaii did not require party line voting he would of won.

Frustrating but true. Even with how easy they're making it for more to vote, still turnout is pathetic.

Don't know what it is.
People are getting killed to vote in other countries and service members were killed supporting it.
Complacency. Lack of education.
I asked an old friend if he votes. "Nah no more time - unless it affects my paycheck - maybe" Then he laughed it off and asked if I was a Republican (I don't think he knew what it was).
Disappointing. :grrr:
Rights in general are not very important from my interactions with friends, co workers. They wouldn't hesitate to open their doors to a "govt. official" to inspect their homes for whatever reason. Their justification is that they have nothing to hide then turn the question to me and ask If I have something to hide? They don't understand or are so complacent with a 9-5 M-F and kids soccer games on the weekends.
