Title: Good scope 10-40x50 recommendations
Post by: SpeedTek on December 24, 2011, 11:01:59 AM
Looking for a good scope to put on my 308 AR.
Anyone have any recommendations in the under
$200 range?  Looking at Tasco, FireField, Barska
And others. Thanks.

I wonder if you'll get any recommendations for those brands? I'd rather have something I trust like a Nikon Prostaff/Buckmasters, Bushnell Elite, Leupold, Sightron, Redfield, etc...

good 10-40x50 for under $200..........curious to see what pops up as well.

I'd probably try and spend 100 more bucks and get something like a Weaver Tactical grand slam or classic V series.  The Bushnell 3200 series maybe......  these are not 10-40 scopes though.

If you must stay very near $200, I'd probably get a Mueller scope (Tactical or Eraticator).  They are 4-16x50 Mil dot @ $211 and 8.5-25x50 $217  Illum dot respectively  (prices are with a dealer discount at midway usa).  I bought a Mueller Tac 2 after some research and put it on a 223 AR and it did fine.  But..... I did not torture test it by any means either.

Hope this helps.

Sightron is a good scope for the price(lower cost).  $200 for a 10-40X50 is a waste of money IMHO.  You'll end up spending on better glass later, and waste $200.  Buy once cry once, GET A NIGHTFORCE.
