The new year is almost here.
What firearms or shooting related new years resolutions do you have?
As for me...
I'm going to join another shooting club or organization.
The more different styles of shooting I do, the better.
-
I'm going to resolve to build an AR from stripped receivers and get my fat ass into zombie apocalypse-surviving shape.
-
Im going to find me a place to live while my family is on the mainland- mid pcs. Thanks where i am going for prolonging the screening paperwork process. Some of us have shit and cars to move, glad its on my dime till you pull cranium from anus, until then, its on me...:(
-
What i need is a mancave where i can smoke really good ribs, clean som guns, and pay texas motel rates till may, good hunting i guess?
-
I was thinking of maybe buying less firearms next year and maybe joining a Firearmaholics Anonymus meeting....
I just bought a 4x4 Nissan Pathfinder that I wanna lift and make "BATTLE" ready....
So if I can just figure out the secret on spending way less money on firearms I'd be ok..
-
Finish at least one of my rifle projects and my Mauser Broomhandle project.
-
Okay, since it's resolution time, I will finally convert my Saiga like I have been planning to do for maybe two years now.
-
My resolution is to get more trigger time and to finally buy a handgun.
-
To evaluate my collection, choose a direction, and pursue it. To sell off guns that were fun to buy, but never get used. To purge my safe of all things "miscellaneous." To get rid of the geegaws and whatnots I've accumulated. And to once again make shooting a regular event in my life.

I don't know if you recall the last Presidential election, but the prices skyrocketed and the shelves were barren of rifles. If I were you I'd seriously look into getting the big bad black rifles before a handgun. Store shelves were literally bare and the asking prices went through the roof.

We will be keeping watch.... Hehehe

1) Get that hunting class in. After 6 years of "Fuck! Its full already!!"
2) Settle on the best loads for the XD and the Marlin. Soon.
3) Order those powders in bulk. Right after soon. The local shops are making their first orders mid January.
4) Make and shoot LOTS of bullets. :D (Since then be too poor to do anything else for entertainment)
5) Work on longer range accuracy offhand with open sights with said loads.
6) Use the scrap lumber and whatnots laying around the house to make a reasonably portable setup for pistol combat training.
7) Use it.
That's my plan. We'll see what actually happens.

I want 1st dibs on whatever gets the axe :D
My Res:
Clean the cosmo out of my c&R,s
Try and shoot more than 2 to 3 times a year.
Burn up the can and a half of hp38 so I can switch to power pistol
make up my damn mind on what my 9,45,38 bulk hp38 reload is gonna be.
get on the military ranges
Get my young family members shooting / hunting
Buy more guns
:shaka:

by the end of this year I will
1. be able to reload consistent ammo for all my center fire guns
2. have a stockpile of lead, primers, and powder along with a functional casting setup
3. have 12v solar power backup system with an inverter so I can keep reloading if the power goes out
4. have gone to every shooting event and learn as much as I can about firearms handling and safety
5. have gone hunting at least once a month
other than that i'll probably pick up an sks or saiga sporter and a case of ammo. not sure right now because there's a lot of other preps I gotta catch up on first.
-
1. Get in better shape
2. Get my preps and supplies more organized
3. Do some kind of formal rifle and/or pistol training
4. Learn to reload
5. And of course buy and try ALOT more firearms.
Good luck with all your resolutions guys :shaka:

No New Years Resolutions for me - I just go with the flow and do the best I can -
-
I too would hope to get more trigger time, become a better shooter, and make more friends.

Sounds like a resolution to me.
Hahaha

True That G!!!,
I remember all to well how the prices went soaring and how the price of my beloved Saiga 12 doubled. My brother-in-law and his brothers started buying up AK's at the inflated prices because they were afraid they would be banned completely. I better add that to my resolution too then... finish my 6.5 Grendel project ASAFP before I get boned on that too.
-
my resolution is to buy more guns in 2012 than i did in 2011. and stock up on ammo, since the world is ending!

+1, Like, "This", what have you.
Figure out which direction your guidepost is, and head toward it. Shed everything that weighs you down. I like that.
Me? I got into guns in 2011. I have two pistols and a rifle, and they've been a lot of fun, but I still consider myself nothing more than a recreational shooter, and don't know if I want to progress beyond that.
Have fun shooting in 2012, both in range time and in variety, don't be afraid to explore new avenues for growth.

Load every single piece of brass in my possession.
-
Make sure I have enough powder, primers, cases and bullets to carry me through to about 2 years after the coming election as a minimum. Due to circumstances beyond my control I had moved to the Big Island before the election and had no ammo or components to build anything. It took me a month before I found a box of 50 rounds of standard Winchester 9mm 115gr FMJ loads that sells for about $10-$11 today that cost me $28!!! A box of 20-25 self defense rounds ran around $50!!! If you could find them. The only ammo that was available when I arrived were less popular calibers.
SCARY, VERY SCARY!

Shoot! I'm picking up a rifle this week! This will be the most exspensive firearm I've ever bought... Next year I promise I wont break....

This is a damn good idea.

I was just thinking the same thing.

For me... I wanna take the wifey shooting more...
Took her early December and she had a blast! (pun intended)
She shot my 10-22, .22 Pistol, and AR.... and loved it! Nice!
-
Ah- the 10-22. "My" first rifle. :-* Meeeemoriiiieees... I have no idea what ever happened to it. Dad must have traded it in on something at some point.
Ya know, I tried loading all my brass... but somehow it keeps turning up empty again. ??? Almost outta lead, too. Again. Funny how that happens.
