Yeah, paracord might be tacticool but isn't cool for your sling bro....
Seems like the Magpul stock I got donated for this project has a aluminum piece dovetailed into the bottom, what it is actually for I have no idea. Anyone know, I'm curious?

Some hardcore bubba'd sh*t and it goes in, tight fit.

I like your Starrett caliper. Been looking at some Mitutoyos

Wow... what a beautiful thing! Turns out an M1907 is the perfect accessory for anything!

Thanks! That caliper is older than I am I'd wager. Still works perfectly. Analog devices just seem to work forever. :)

AMEN to that Tom. They are an awesome tool for accuate shooting. Used right they are as stable, if not more, as a bipod shooting in the prone. Might not be as quick to set up, but they work.

From the pics, looks like you went from a checkered handgrip to smooth? Care to comment on your reasons for that?
I have noticed Jerry Miculek runs a smooth handgrip with no finger grooves. Tried a Hogue with finger grooves and hated it.
-
Interesting! Nice work! Looks like that took a while, but it sure does fit that sling setup WAY better! And paracord is awesome for all sorts of things!
Regarding the grip, I don't mind the finger hump on the A2 grip that much, but I prefer without the finger bump. My preferred grip is the Tango Down, but I still have the A2 on one gun. That is until I get around to swapping it out, but not a priority.

I think it's just a play on the lighting. I had to finish this project up at 3 in the morning. Been so busy at work that it was the only time to work on this.
That grip is a standard A1, per CMP/NRA rules.
I do agree I like grips with no finger grooves and such. That's why I went with the A1 VS A2 standard grip.

Thank you.
Actually it didn't take too much time to do at all. Maybe an hour or 2? I probably could have done a better job of I did take a little more time, but the ugly parts are hidden anyway. All long as it works. Still have to test it out in some matches and shooting. Hope it holds up.
