The pizza store guy would be arrested, his gun confiscated and destroyed
or donated to a cops "collection". The local Democrat
DA would prosecute because the pizza guy has no money to fight
and would plea to a felony, with probation.

Dontcha just love it! Anyone who doesn't believe that our little piggy police department doesn't give confiscated guns to a piggys collection is living in a dream world. I happen to know it's true (a close family relation is a cop here and laughed at me when I told him they all get destroyed). Ahhhh yes paradise!

A murder investigation would be started and the gun would be taken as evidence for the time being but if he is cleared then the gun would eventually be released. They might keep it for some time though in case new information arose.

Just another thug who got what they deserved. I feel bad for the real victim, no one wants to take another's life I'm sure...

You will never see your gun again. Count it as a consumable if you ever need to use it.

Very true, but in the end I would gladly pay $3000 if it meant me and my family survive a home invasion.
