My request....

Henry Repeating Arms, and the attendees of the 1,000 Man Shoot deserve to have their achievement validated.

I find particular interest in this event as my wife just recently asked if I would buy her a Henry lever action .22 (which of course I did).

The Henry Lever Action is a classic Western-style lever action rifle and a classic in it's own right.

Henry is also a family owned business and it’s company motto is “Made in America, or Not Made At All”.
How many things are still made in America ?

The Henry company also donates to many great causes. The donation of rifles to raise funds for sick children, honoring War hero's and our Veterans, our USA shooting team, cancer centers, youth programs, Ronald McDonald House, Breast Cancer and many more.

Please reconsider adding the 1,000 Man Shoot to the Guinness World records.

  Thank you

What does shooting fish with a block have to do with Henry rifles?

The Guinness World Records were relevant in the 80s along with Thats Incredible.

Guinness refuses lots of records. The ones they refuse change over time. Some are dropped only to be reinstated later. Sometimes these changes coincide with changes in leadership at Guinness. Sometimes it was obviously a bad idea to have the record in the first place. And, at the end of the day, it's their publication, thehy get to decide.

Really, this is a pretty "meh" record. It took no special skills, only corporate sponsorship and a large range. So next year, what, they fire three shots in unison? They get 1001 riflemen? Why is this noteworthy? I mean, don't get me wrong, it's kinda neat, and I certainly would have stood on the line. But I wouldn't have thought "Wow, what an accomplishment! This needs to be documented in the annals of history!" I'd just have thought "Yeah, this is kinda neat!"

I watched the video, it was wonderful.
Actually, the "block" was a typo error.
But I have called them blocks before because it just seems appropriate.
Thanks for sharing that 1000 man event. I was unaware about it.

   Well Tom,
I too think it may have been more of an NRA PR stunt to get expose firearms as a "normal " thing with a lot of normal folks around an American made product getting together top create or break a record and get more "Safe Gun" exposure out there.

The response I received from Guinness kinda validates that...

Dear XXXX, Rocky

    Thank you for your message.

Guinness World Records does not monitor mass participation records that, each time the record is broken, increase the danger posed to the general public or environment.
As the activity proposed by the NRA is not one we feel can be safely monitored on a global basis, we unfortunately are unable to recognize it as a record.

Sincerely,

Guinness World Records

This was the first subject  I thought of  with "mass participation records that, each time the record is broken, increase the danger posed to the general public or environment. "

Most skydivers in a vertical formation: 138 skydivers set world record (VIDEO)
Jumping from six planes over Ottawa, Ill. — a town approximately 80 miles outside of Chicago, 138 skydivers formed a synchronized snowflake design in mid-plummet, while falling at speeds of up to 220 mph; they set the new world record for the Most skydivers in a vertical formation

A group of 138 skydivers formed a synchronized snowflake design in mid-plummet, shattering the previous vertical formation record of 108 divers

The Guinness world record for the largest women's free fall formation consisted of 151 skydivers

Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the Largest simultaneous BASE jump (outdoor), set by 30 skydivers from over seven different countries, who performed a BASE jump from the Ostankino television and radio tower in Moscow, Russia.   Nelson explained that vertical flying is "basically doing a headstand" in the air. The lack of wind resistance speeds the skydivers' fall rate to an average of 170 to 180 mph.

Ahead of the record attempt, he said some of those involved would need to reach much higher speeds. And that increased the risks.
