Aha! More motor-vehicle violence, just like at Ohio State the other day. When are people gonna pressure our do-nothing politicians in light of this epidemic of assault-vehicle violence and enact commonsense vehicle safety regulations? Or just ban them outright, if they had any guts. We also need laws to hold irresponsible motor vehicle owners accountable for when their vehicles, improperly stored and insecurely locked, are stolen by criminals and used in crimes. Where's the outrage?

No, but I'm pretty sure I can see two cosmetic features that qualify it as an assault vehicle.

If this was in the mainland it wouldn't be "officer involved" shooting.
It would read officer shot <insert race here> persons.

I'm impressed that a single officer discharged his weapon and hit 2 perps !
At least someone has been going to the range.

“I am deeply saddened by the senseless act of gun violence at Burger King this
afternoon. Praying for the injured and the entire Mililani community.” - Tim Kaine

That's why we should let liberals ban guns for us they dangerous!

HPD firearms training has improved greatly from the past.  I feel they are trained as well as, or better than, most trained civilian defensive/combat shooters.  The training they go through is very good.  A handful are expert shooters.  Could still be better since they are only required to live fire once a year.

Agreed.  They have vastly improved especially since transitioning to the Glock pistol.

Rumors are that Officers during this transition were exposed to a firearms training program and a way of instruction that the Officers and the agency had never experienced prior to that.  If this is true it is fortunate that the administration FINALLY accepted input from outside the normal route of instruction which is an endemic problem in LE in general.  Put pride aside and tap into the real experts no matter their assignment and exploit that knowledge base.  Apparently the training and individual personalized attention by people who are up to date on the most current TTP's was huge and performance improvements in individual officers across the board was stellar.

Also rumor has it that the training at the academy level has changed a good deal because of it.  Also word had it that there are large numbers personnel within specialized assignments (outside of just The SSD) who are getting ongoing training from similar sources and the level of skill is quite amazing.

Good news that found the truck.  Bad news: the truck has blood and bullet holes in it, and it is impounded as evidence in an ongoing case.  +1 for the good guys though.
