Why some ROs wear body armor. Luckily it hit him in the leg. At least he grabbed the gun quickly.

One of my worst nightmares
Precisely why you don't stand directly behind your student having the firearm blocked from your view and looking at the target.
I remember hearing story's of instructors shot when full auto and large calibre's went over students head shot instructors in face/head. :shake:
Right handed shooter, you stay on their right side left handed shooter, you stay on their left side
That way you can always see the gun and have "better chance' of disarming student if you see something amiss. :o
Student would also have to step back or push you back to turn the gun on you.
Eyes should ALWAYS be on the firearm other than a a brief check on grip, stance etc... :thumbsup:

In addition to standing on the strong side and watching the gun (not the target) , I always have my hands on my stomach or chest ready to grab the arm.
