According to the news story his business was up yesterday.
I guess any publicity is good publicity. It's also located in the downtown liberal urbanite area.
But really, local people don't care about signs like that. They just want to go eat lunch.

the sign was put up the day after the election, and the owner stated he took it down after a few days

The guy's a self-righteous jerk... not uncommon in progressive-thinking individuals.
However, this bit in the cited article stunned me:
Hawaii overwhelmingly supported Hillary Clinton during the Nov. 8 election, and historically has supported Democrats in local and national races. In fact, just six Republicans are in the 51-member House, and the 25-member Senate is GOP-free.
Sounds like a tyranny of the majority, to me.
Hopefully President-Elect Trump's successes in his term will draw some people toward conservative thinking and away from their short-sighted "gimme, gimme" attitudes.

It's a shame that these "Libertards" feel that they have the moral right to impose their philosophy on everyone. It's not enough to just express their own opinion it has to be a law forcing everyone else to agree. Not buying anything from this place.

You need to understand it is the same mentality (idiocy) underlying this sign, which is behind all those other signs such as Gun Free Zones, etc.
This is a very LOW IQ mentality.
All the sign does is express their discontent with something, but not only does it have no effect on what the person prefers but actually has the reverse effect.
Trump voters are not going to self identify and be like Oh, I'm a Trump voter, and I can't enter this magical barrier to eat here.
Criminals with guns are not going to magically toss their guns once they enter a "gun free zone". If anything, they are informed that NO LAW ABIDING CITIZENS are armed.
Numerous other examples.
Liberals feel there is MAGIC (I mean that literally) when they announce with all their heart XYZ. Because maybe in Hollywood movies, when you do something like that, magic happens.
