Looks like he picked up his bag from the carousel, took his legally-transported gun and ammo into the restroom to load, then came out and started shooting.
Dammit.

Anyone could easily walk into baggage claim and start shooting the place but of course, the "libturds" (I just heard that the other day) will focus on preventing guns and ammo in luggage.
-
Weird.
Where were all those TSA people that we paid for with our tax dollars?
-
That's what I initially thought but then my wife reminded me that you don't need to go through security to enter the baggage claim area. Plus he legally transported the firearm in his bag.

True, but aren't there always security people in the baggage claim areas?

If I cannot rely on all those TSA agents or security guards to keep me safe at an airport then I deserve a larger tax refund.
Then I can hire private security to guard my luggage.

I wonder why he chose to fly all the way from Alaska to Ft Lauderdale bagage terminal to do the shooting? I find that very unusual. He could have done this at the Alaska airport and saved himself a trip. Or find a more symbolic and crowded place in Florida. I get that people get agitated from long flights, but wonder what his reasoning is.
Another incident in a gun free zone.

The weather is much nicer for shooting in Florida.

False flag. Folding my tin foil hat as we speak.
Only way to reduce shooting damages, is to end gun free zones.

I had the same question plus he went to Alaska from Canada. I mean why Florida? There's Seattle or how about even a more fun place to do this California.

News just reported he went to the FBI and reported the government was forcing him to watch ISIS videos, They did a psych evaluation and let him go.

That's more likely to happen now in Trump's country.

Why did Ted Bundy escape custody, drive to Chicago, Michigan and Atlanta, then board a bus to Florida, only to commit murder there? He could have lived in Florida for a long time had he stayed off law enforcement's radar.
Florida has the death penalty. Had he been caught in another state and returned to Colorado, he would have been facing life. He stated after being sentenced that he believed he deserved death.

He coulda saved a lotta people a lotta grief if he had gone the self service route years earlier.

Yes, but if you're being hunted for murder, why kill in a death penalty state unless you hope to get caught and be put to death?
I'm wondering if that's part of the FLL gunman's thought process. Buying a ticket, flying, waiting for baggage that might have been delayed ... makes no sense if a public airport massacre was the only motive.

Well something sure looks strange to me also. Flying to FLA from AK to kill? Laying down on the ground after he's out of ammo? Linking his story to ISIS? Guess anything is possible but sure doesn't follow the current trend of multiple shootings. Maybe the murderer thought DJT was still in FL and wanted to make an anti-Trump statement.. For sure these anti-Trumpers are getting more psychotic every day.

Depending on his mental state he might not follow standard trends and the reasons might make no sense to us. Who knows, but since he is alive and gave up he will probably make a statement and we can all find out what was going through his mind.
Of course conspiracy stories will follow. Maybe he was in the new MKUltra program....

Psychopaths, sociopaths, mentally ill mass murderers, etc. aren't known for the precision, accuracy, or reliability of their statements about their own mental states, motivations, thought processes, etc. I'm not claiming that psychiatrists are any more accurate in their assessments (they've been duped innumerable times), only that criminals and the mentally ill may be the last and least likely to know why they do what they do, not to mention that they can be pathological liars and manipulators. I'd include those who claim to do it in service to some god in the same category.

Video of the shooting
http://www.cnn.com/2017/01/08/us/fort-lauderdale-airport-shooting-main/index.html
Lessons learned, if you're close to the gunman, try and take him out. Don't just stand there. Don't just lie on the floor or hide behind a cart. Run away and zig zag to get distance and find cover. Watch your surroundings and don't be complacent.

Once Again, the Cops “Form a Perimeter” While a Mass Murderer Goes About His Business
Thomas DiLorenzo
I have walked out of the Fort Lauderdale Airport terminal and into the baggage claim area where the horrific shootings occurred today about thirty times in the past year. There is an armed TSA bureaucrat sitting at a desk where you exit the terminal area and go into baggage claim. He sits about ten paces from the first baggage carousel, where the shootings occurred. Despite this, the news is reporting that the Fort Lauderdale shooter reloaded twice, and then when he ran out of ammo began walking out of the airport, at which point the cops finally emerged from their “perimeter” and arrested him. But not [until] after he murdered five people and shot eight others without any interference at all by the TSA, state police, or county cops who are always crawling all over the Fort Lauderdale airport like ants at a picnic.
All the political bigshot blowhards, incuding the governor, almost immediately went on television to praise all of their fellow bureaucrats for their “brilliant coordination” between the local cops, FBI, Homeland Security, bla, bla, bla. They even praised to the treetops how many “perimeters” were established! This was within an hour or two of the shooting, when no one could possibly have known anything about how much “coordination” had occurred in light of such chaos. Thousands of people were forced onto the airport runways without food, water, or toilets for hours on end while golf carts rode all around giving food and water only to the cops.
Same thing happened at my alma mater, Virginia Tech: hundreds of cops “formed a perimeter” around the building where a killer shot more than 30 people dead while the cops hid behind their perimeter. In Baltimore, after a man shot a doctor inside the Johns Hopkins hospital hundreds of cops hid behind a “perimeter” for about twelve hours until a robot with a camera informed them that the shooter had committed suicide.

My tin foil had has me wondering. The video shows what looks like his first shots are directed at a specific target. He could have easily turned around and shot more people, but chose to sprint like he is trying to escape after the first shots were fired.
Why haven't any named been released? San Bernadino, names and pictures were released the next day...

I'm surprised that even CNN et al. are running this story. I kinda thought it'd go down the memory hole with the preferred narrative of "mentally ill" and having nothing at all to do with his conversion to islam... although I'd suggest that alone is a sign of mental illness. Yeah, I know... "deplorable islamophobe!".

Pfc Gomer Pyle was promoted to lance corporal on 9aug2001 at Camp Smith, Honolulu, HI.
It was quite a large ceremony.
