Bryan, Texas – Dramatic footage has been released which shows a Bryan Police Department officer-involved shooting of felon Calvin Baker.
On February 12th at around 10:15 PM, Bryan Police Officer Steven Laughlin, 27, responded to a call of a domestic disturbance where he contacted Calvin Baker.
Officer Steven Laughlin calmly tried to speak with Baker, who concealed his right hand and began pacing aggressively. Officer Laughlin drew his gun and repeatedly pleaded with Baker to show his right hand.
Calvin Baker not only refused to show his hand, but in a creepy-as-hell fashion, he kept asking, “Are you ready?”
“That’s all I want to do is see your right hand man,” Officer Laughlin said.
“Are you ready?” Baker replied.
“Stop saying that man, all I want to do is talk to you man,” said Officer Laughlin.
And again, baker repeatedly asked, “Are you ready?”
Suddenly, Baker drew an object from his pocket and took a shooting stance. Officer Laughlin responded by shooting Baker. Baker survived his injuries and Officer Laughlin was unharmed.
Any reasonable person would have believed that Calvin Baker was drawing a gun, but the object in his hand was later identified as a black cell phone.
On Tuesday, the Brazos County Grand Jury decided that the shooting was justified.

Looks like a good shoot to me, did everything by the book. Suicide by cop. Only thing I see wrong is cop didn't have his car lights on.
