I haven't seen anything official from the CMP, but this is good news if they are in decent condition.

Yes, please.

I agree, I think this would be enough to get me into Rapback.

I hope they come.  I got a denial letter from the CMP the last time they offered it.  I have a IBM model with matching partss so I want to save that one and get a shooter.

You're lucky to have one at all. Some of us don't have one.  :( :( :(

My dad has a CMP Garand and 1903. Love shooting the 1903. We've never shot the Garand.

So does that mean you have never shot a Garand? If not, you have not lived until you have. Anytime you want to shoot a Garand, let me know and I can help arrange for that.

It is a distinctive sound, isn't it? I don't shoot my Garand as often as I would like. I have to make sure I have plenty of ammo loaded when I take it. I have shot everything through it from Sierra soft points to Hornady A-Max to lead herds. Accurate as the day is long. Good fun.

I've shot Garands before. I just haven't shot my dad's one.

About those Philippine Garands, I heard it's gonna take sometime before they actually get them in the US and rework them to be ready to sell. Like as much as two years so don't be expecting to buy them by the end of this year.

Just what i read online from what people noticed when cmp got Garands back from Greece I think.

However when those Garands do go on sale hopefully we can see them at a $600ish price point like before. Not to mention there's still those 80k Korean Garands

Good!!   Maybe RAPBACK will not be an issue then.

I heard something similar.  The Philipines has to gather and ship the rifles to the US Army.  The Army inventories and checks them then sends it to the CMP.  The CMP then has to inventory and inspect each rifle and grade them.

CMP has M1 Field and Service grades in stock again.  They've been out for a while.  These aren't related to the philipines M1's.

I Just returned from CMP camp Perry, All the M1s looked like crap. Even the upper grades. I was very disappointing. they had about 200 rifles on display for sale. I would have been disappointed if I order a rifle and revived any thing they had sent. Be ware

Interesting story I found on AR15.com and CMP about canned M1 Garands.  Hope those Korean M1's find there way here while Trump is in office.

Rumor is the rifles are lend/lease to the US Army, and that the Koreans previous sale and importation by Century Arms was cancelled by Obama.  So it's possible the CMP could bring them home with help from Trump.
