Title: Hawaii state militia?
Post by: mauiside on January 31, 2012, 08:03:56 AM
Has anyone on here ever thought about, is, or has been part of a militia for the state of Hawaii?  I think it would prolly benefit having one around just in case things got "interesting" in next year.

Hawaii already has a militia. It's the national guard.

I gather that he is talking about the "on the down-low" kind of militia. You know a bunch of dudes with guns and some provisions that are ready to take on the man in case things don't go thier way.

The type that get eradicated by the ATF/DEA in places like Idaho and other encampments.

Check his posts and tell me what you think.

But, I could be wrong here.

Oh. The ones that the US classifies as domestic terrorists after 9/11.

The National  Guard is not a militia.  There's no way that the National Guard, paid by the federal government, occupying property leased to the federal government, using weapons owned by the federal government, punishing trespassers under federal law, is a state militia.  Real militias are the ones you hear about getting their compounds raided in Idaho.  They're probably mostly deserving of this treatment, but then again, you have to wonder if maybe they weren't so crazy as Big Brother and the media made them out to be.

Quote from: Some Nightly News Show
"John Doe, leader of the local domestic terror cell "The Hawaiian Militia", was killed today in an early-morning raid of his compound by officers from the ATF.  In the compound, which was surrounded by chain-link fencing, complete with surveillance cameras, motion sensor perimeter lights, and a large attack dog, agents uncovered a massive stockpile of weapons and bomb-making materials.  Seized in the raid were two M4-style assault rifles, an AK-47, a large-caliber sniper rifle, and numerous automatic pistols, including a Glock 19, the same pistol used by mass murderer Jared Loughner.  The exact type of bomb-making paraphanelia is not being disclosed, but an ATF spokesperson said there was a large quantity of a chemical called "HS-6", which is the same type of explosive used to fire military artillery shells.  Various right-wing books and pamphlets were found, in addition to the US military field manuals on survival, escape, resistance and evasion; combat trauma medicine; and the M-16 assault rifle."

Wow, good thing we got rid of that crazy bastard, eh?  In reality, the guy I'm picturing in my head had a six foot chainlink fence to contain his exuberant German Shepard, some basic home security items, a decent but not overly large gun collection, and a reloading hobby.  He also had copies of books by Glenn Beck, Sarah Palin, and Rush Limbaugh, as well as some NRA mailers.  His "compound" was any house with a decent yard.  I'm not saying that ALL militias are upstanding, good guys that I'd want to hang out with, but I take any media or government report on anything to do with guns with a grain of salt.  Maybe they're right-wing neo-Nazis, or maybe they're just right-wingers, and Dan Rather decided that since Nazism is on the right hand side of the political spectrum, it would be a safe bet to say that they're Nazis.  Who's going to question him?  Everybody knows those gun owners are nucking futs, Mr. Rather and Co. have been telling us that for years!

Coug, eloquently put. If you are going to stockpile and form a militia, don't throw it on an ISP...

I didn't realize that Hawaii had pretty much the same definition as the national one.

Here is another link to a slightly more official source. http://www.capitol.hawaii.gov/hrs2006/Vol03_Ch0121-0200D/HRS0121/HRS_0121-0001.HTM (http://www.capitol.hawaii.gov/hrs2006/Vol03_Ch0121-0200D/HRS0121/HRS_0121-0001.HTM)

Their not fat or out of shape anymore. New standards was enacted 3 years ago. All the fat ones was kicked out. The PT test now is no joke. 50% failure rate. 4 fails and your discharged. Ive been in the guard for 15 years now. This is the hardest its ever been. Guard and active duty are joint units now. Everyone has the same standard.

Sure we're talking about the Texas State Guard?  Im in the Texas Army National Guard, which has the same height/weight standards as active duty, always has.  Whenever I run into a Texas State Guard member its usually a grey haired fatass with a handlebar moustache in ACUs with a Texas flag on his shoulder.

I read "Navy Militia" in that article regarding HRS 121-1 Militia, and immediately imagined a bunch of old Japanese fishermen and a bunch of haole yacht owners from Maui, and I've come to the conclusion that we're nautically doomed lawl.
