Don;t think the State should be held liable for someone's poor parenting.
Maybe we should have a permit process to have kids.

Any way to make a buck. The fools at CPS who kept giving him back should be charged as accomplices to murder.

When the state or federal government interject themselves into the lives of citizens, with the promise and objective to prevent bad things from happening, and they fail due to their own negligence and/or incompetence, I think the government deserves to be held accountable.
Keeping a family together is the #1 desired outcome, but it should NOT be the #1 policy. Safety of everyone in a family should be the goal. If that requires putting abused children in foster care or with another family member, then keeping the family together should take a back seat.
It happens too often. The government takes our taxes, creates an agency and promises they will make the public safer. That has the effect of reducing the perceived responsibility for the individual. Just like charity, if I pay taxes which the gov't gives to the poor, I don't feel it's my responsibility to duplicate that effort by giving more of my money to the poor.

In this state it is better to be poor or rich than middle class. I know guys that don't work, get their housing, medical and cell phone paid for by the state, plus an EBT card. Only work they have to do is make plenty babies.
