Mark my words, in a few years crime will be down, and the media will credit some feel-good police program or city council resolution for finally getting the violent crime under control. We'll know better, won't we?

Pretty sad state of affairs in Detroit when you've got military guys considering a "tour of duty" over there. lol Although just by the numbers, I think Detroit was more dangerous than Iraq for at least a few years of the war.

But all seriousness its great that citizens is policing themselves, but down the road wonder how long it last without a neutral authoritative figure to police the area. Example an incident that results in retaliations probably will happen, I mean we all hear the stories "they was such a good kid and he wasn't capable of such things." Not to mention gangs also, who have greater numbers than a single citizen that is legally armed.

That may be true, but peaceful citizens will always outnumber criminals. It's just a question of how many of them are willing to grab their shotgun and go stand on the sidewalk when the gangbangers roll through.
