I've never understood how simply registering drones make them safer, just like guns.

I have to have insurance to fly my model airplanes at the field in Kailua. $58./year In case you crash into someone or someones house/car.
The problem with drones is that were first sold as toys and people started doing stupid sh!t, so then came the regulations. It's always a few that ruin it for the rest of us. ???
But I agree, registration doesn't make them safer, just like requiring mopeds to get license and safety doesn't make them safer.
