It's a pistol with detachable magazine, so im guessing it would be illegal here like AR pistols unless the magazine is welded on
I hear the internals are completely different from the original MP40, so none of the MP40 parts or magazines work.
Also read rumors online that they will be coming out with a rifle version (folding stock, 16" barrel) later similar to their MP40 in .22LR

its an import pistol, still needs the required US parts to be compliant for a rifle , thus the delay.

They should do the same for their .22LR STG44, maybe make them in .223 or 7.62x39.
I already know about HMG's STG44 repro, but the more companies that make a repro STG44 in center fire rifle caliber, the merrier
