I've been checking out the "inFAMOUS" MP5 clones and variants lately.... ;D
Anyone know which ones runs the best without problems? ???
I've researched and found a couple that's been getting good reviews...
The Vector and Coharie clones seems to be having the least problems...
A lot of people buy them and don't shoot it or shoot it very little due to the price....
So it's hard to gauge... ???
Any feedback is awesome, Thank You

oh ok, I guess Vector lost that war....hahaha
I also heard that Special Weapons made a good clone but I don't think they produce it any more....

Special Weapons = Cohaire = Coharie --------> All Todd Bailey (TB). Google him. He knows his stuff, but he's a wacko.
Given the choice do the Cohaire/Coharie instead of the SW offerings.
As I understand it Bobcat used some stuff from TB, but was not really fully his.......someone else assembled? It's been so long I forget.
Hesse/Vulcan - No.
Given the choice I'd get a flat and a parts kit. Have someone like ghilliebear or chopstixkid or Dakota Tactial assemble it for you. There are other guys too who do that work........I'm thinking IGF (Investment Grade Firearms), but I don't know what his wait list is like.
I had ghilliebear assemble a 93 clone for me a couple of years back. He's helpful, good price, quick, etc.
For triggers, I'd take your pack and have Bill Springfield do a trigger job on it. Had Bill do a job on my 91 pack and it's world's better than stock. Cheap, good, quick turnaround.

I build them locally. the problem is the wait time for registered recievers is forever.
HK 93 and 94 9mm or .223

So you bend the flats, weld 'em up, and push the barrels in?
-
Only on my personal ones. I could never sell them...
I do have a 94 serialized reciever. I might sell it at the gunshow.
Everyone else has to buy a welded serialized reciever with trunion.
Then I can finish it.
Good HK Parts kits getting expensive.

Anyone sell the coharie in 40S&W on the island?
-
I think that 40s&w straight mag looks sick  ... I emailed Coharie today but didn't get a response... I may call them first thing tomorrow morning...

Good to know. Didn't realize anyone fussed round with that locally.

Good luck man. TB has been saying for years that he's been trying to get out of the game, but he's still around. More than likely if you get a hold of someone it will be his wife.
No BS BananaClip I would not deal with him. There are better options.

Yeah, I'm kinda sketching about this whole MP5 temptation... Too much money to gamble over...
Even a parts kit is like $1500! :o

^^^Parts kit + flat is still a lot cheaper than $4,000 for a used rifle.
Anyhow, give ghilliebear (Jeff) a call. He's a cool guy and will be able to give you some insight into your build. He can help locate parts + suggest flats to use. Jeff''s out in Oklahoma.

Look at post #3. DJF has 40 kits. I've seen him posting around. Don't know anything much else about him though.
-----------------------------
Just sent him a PM on the price. I'll let you know what he's asking for the .40 kit and what's included.

THANKS GZIRE!
