If Hawaii were to bring back the death penalty, and instituted immediately. Making sure that everyone serves the full amount of time, and making sure that young thugs and felons serve their full sentence, no plea bargains and no time off for good behavior for a crime which results in the death of another human being. And if someone dies in the course of someone committing a crime, that person is held responsible for either murder or manslaughter, and there looking at the possibility of a death sentence. Things would change. Sadly, things won’t change until then. And the Hawaii democratic powers in office will make sure that that doesn’t happen, and that things to stay exactly the way they are. Because this benefits the democratic party. It keeps the society itself addicted and dependent. And it keeps the political powers in office being seen as needed and necessary.

Great article, I'm definitely  on the same page.

I remember coming to Hawaii in 1996 and the first "violent crime"  we first heard of was  "Miranda Seal Master hostage situation."  :o
Just been going downhill since then.   :'(

As for SD,  look at the Darryl Freeman Aiea road rage incident.
https://2ahawaii.com/index.php?topic=26836.0

Yes, Freeman may have been an a$$hole, but  IF a 31 yr old gets out of his car, approaches a 72 yr old and cold cocks him while he's in the driver's seat, does he not have the right to utilize an "equalizer" in self defense ?
Freeman probably "ran Pahio over" when Pahio fell partially under the vehicle and no, Freeman should not have taken off.
But  Pahio should have never left his car (and 2 daughters in the vehicle) to confront Freeman

I put myself in the same situation.
I'm 60 yr olds, out of shape (I'm working on it !) w/ bad back and little to no strength /grip in one hand.
How would I fare to some 25-30 yr old "Hey you fak'n haole, wat, you like beef ?" because I did not l see or expect him to just pull out in front of me when I had right of way, I caught  "his wave" or he's just a tweaker ?
And now days, that could happen just walking down the street or at the beach.
And I would go to jail because  I defended myself with a fire arm against  "A man whose family is in mourning because he was just getting off drugs and getting his life back together as he was a good old boy who was going to go back to school to become a crisis counselor for orphaned children whom I gunned down in cold blood" ?  :wtf:
