Title: Countries with the right to bear arms
Post by: zippz on September 09, 2017, 03:49:18 PM
I was researching this and found that the US is the only country with a true right to bear arms in the constitution.  No other country in the world has this, though the Czechs are giving the EU the finger by passing a constitutional amendment soon.  Next closest is Guatemala and Mexico but it's only symbolic as they still have big restrictions.

In lot of countries people carry and are not concerned with a permit.  Afghanistan, Syria, Iraq, Somalia and generally anywhere there is a lot of lawlessness and violence..

And DC...

The 2A is unique because the Founding Fathers specifically used the British government as a template for what not to do including the registration and confiscation of firearms to suppress a particular group such as the Protestants. That's the main beef I have with the rapback system.

1 AK per household, but never enforced by local government, only US troops.  To protect against Alibaba.
