My friend used a .30-30 Marlin w/scope.  He uses 150 gr Silver-Tip.  I use the Fed. Trophy Bonded Tip .308 165 gr.

Rain wasn’t too bad.  Off and On & not very hard. Actually perfectly cool so Hogs was moving early.  Saw hogs as early as 1:30pm.

how long after a shot is fired does it take for the pics to return to an area?
or do they stay away due to the shot and the blood from the kill?

just curious if you stay in the same place after a kill or do you have to move

Stayed the same place.  After the shot if nothing chasing them they return. The blood don’t deter them.

Recovered bullet. .308win 165 gr. Trophy Bonded Tip.  Entered between the eyes and lodged in the left shoulder.  Sow was walking to my right and slightly turned and faced me. About 65-70 yards.

I switched from 175 smk bthp to 168 Hornady amax . The smk where just zipping thru being that it’s more of a “target” shooting  type of bullet . The Amax stops them cold .

I swear these buggas look like the ones we almost ran over last week while we was riding on Tuesday.  Was only like 100 yards down the road from your blind. :shaka:

Same experience with the Barnes Tipped Triple Shock X bullets.  Switched to Hornady American Whitetail Interlock but they couldn’t hold together so now I using these Trophy Bonded Tips.
