Got word today that a dear old friend, Hawaii Hunter Ed Master Instructor and CSM of the Army, Korean and Vietnam war vet, Henry Pascua, passed away last night in Kaiser. Anyone who attended the HE course at either the main classroom in Honolulu by the Eagle Cafe or various locations around Oahu, especially Waianae, were probably had the privilege of being taught by him. Hank, as he liked to be called and I always taught the class together since 1985 and it was because of his guidance, teaching and recommendation that I became a master in 1997. He was also the CSM in charge of the Waianae High School JROTC for over 20 years. We hunted Lanai together for many years, got drunk together after the hunt and laughed till we cried. Good time with a great pal and great man IMHO. I last spoke to him just before Thanksgiving while he was recovering from a flare up of his leukemia which also metastized in his lungs and planned to have our biweekly lunch together this week. My heart hurts and I’m gonna miss him terribly. Via con dios, my friend. May the warm winds and following seas comfort you for eternity. Keep the bud lite cool and we’ll drink up and get stupid again someday........ :(

Sorry to hear that. I never met the man but it sounds like he was great guy.
2 weeks ago I was at the rifle range when I got a call about my old friend in Ohio.
We had a BBQ on Saturday to play music and celebrate her passing.

My condolences also. Sorry to see old warriors pass. Be assured that they just go on to kick ass with old friends and be with loved ones elsewhere.

Hurts my heart to hear of Sergeant Major Pascua passing. I was in his JROTC class back in Waianae High school. Where is he laid to rest?

Yes he was one of a kind..... not to mention a very dear friend to me and many others. I miss him terribly....
He was laid to rest on 27 December at the Kaneohe Veterens Cemetery. I’ll find out what plot number for you.
