Does anyone even seriously shoot on the Big Island? feels like only me and a couple other people are in to it, besides the people that like to bench shoot or bring out glass bottles, propane tanks, and TV's and leave their trash. I'd like to find some serious shooters on the big island mainly Kona side to try and become better at shooting with. message me here or PM if you want to go shooting.
PS night vision is a plus

I presume you are aware of there being no place to go shooting on the west side.with a decent range. Manuka is it, and not very convineint or a pleasant place to shoot.
That and DLNR supposedly can raid it looking for hunter licenses.
Liberals destroyed our grassroots work to get a formal range built here several years ago.

well is it going to stop you from becoming better at shooting?

Some on the Big Island have their own private range.

Yeah it's mostly private property/farms. That's if you own that much land or know someone who's willing to let you do shooting drills (because noise complaint is a thing).
Otherwise try and find the time to get a hunting license. Last time I heard about the public shooting range is that it was a go, but I haven't heard anything since especially what the design will be like.

I have only 3 acres, with the nearest neighbors about 200 ysrds away. No one has ever complained about me shooting, but I am considerate. I only shoot during normal working hours and limit it to 50 rounds. I imagine the sound carries for at least a 1000 yards. My shooting sessions only last 15-20 minutes.
When I lived on a tiny 7500 sq ft lot in Kailua Oahu, I occaisionally would shoot my 9mm inside my enclosed garage, drawing from concealment and firing from 3 to 5 yards. I would fire no more than 3 rounds. My next door neighbor was a HPD sergeant, so I would make sure he wasn't home, even though we were friendly to each other.
