Many years ago I had a machinist in Tennessee make this bullet mold to my specifications.
I named it 207SSW.
I rediscovered it while trying to declutter my workshop.
So I fired up the lead pot before walking the dog.
By the time I got back it was ready to drop bullets.
I just made enough to shoot for a couple range sessions because it's not perfected yet.
It is a 207 grain 45 cal. Round nosed semi-wadcutter.

Coating?

Coating?
...
I don't coat bullets.
The bullet lube in the grease groove is my custom blend of pure Hawaiian beeswax and genuine ALOX2138f.

That looks like a nice shape! Is it longer in the nose than the standard 200grn SWC?

About the same but round shaped.
Back then, over 20 years ago, I came up with this idea but it didn't feed reliably and gave up.
One thing about it was that it was surprisingly accurate.
Since then I changed equipment and techniques so I thought I'd try again.
Pretty cool to have your own bullet, eh?

What kind of feeding issues did it have? Seems like it would do good, if not better than a standard SWC. I know people that use straight wadcutters in autos have problems and need gun tuning.

Got Stuck about half way into the chamber.
But I think there is more to bullet design than just rounding off the tip.
Something to do with the geometry of the feed angle.
I think the round nose has to be slightly longer and more blunt.
But then the weight would be higher and I wanted to stay around 200gr.
But this thing surely can cut a mean hole in the paper.

A similar bullet now sold by Acme Bullet co.
