Post by: oldfart on February 13, 2018, 11:32:24 AM
Would anyone happen to have an adjuster tool for a Mitutoyo dial caliper?
I believe it looks like this...

Looking for a Mitutoyo caliper
...
I called support and they said it was too old so they could only sell me a new one at 25% discount.
It would be about $140 out of pocket.

But the tech was sympathetic and clued me in on how to adjust it myself.
So just a few minutes ago I made my own adjuster from a paper clip.
It took a few minutes of wiggling but It's back to zero again.

I still have to fabricate a bezel lock from a piece of plastic that cracked, but that should be easy.
The story behind this is that I dropped it a few days ago and it lost zero.
The caliper was bought from H.S. Grey on Puuloa rd. 12.24.1981.
Really made in Japan, $50
