Title: Nordstrom active shooter lockdown
Post by: ren on March 06, 2018, 09:14:05 PM
Can Nordstrom legally lock its customers in the event of an active shooter?

I still dont understand the purpose of lockdowns.
If a criminal is targeting a place why keep everyone in? Wouldn't it be fish in a barrel?

Because active Shooters usually go for easy targets and if they meet a locked door they generally move on

Had an active shooter in WA macys a year ago. And WA has ccw and open carry. Theres video also of it. But macys no allow ccw. The guy came in close to closing, so lucky it was empty.

My daughter was working that night and they moved everyone up to the 3rd floor offices with only 1 way in or out and locked all the doors. So guess it was a good move on their part. Better than propping the doors open and saying "come on in and have a field day"

Legally they're not supposed to keep you locked up against your will, that's imprisonment or kidnapping.

However they can make the case that if they open the doors to allow you to leave, then it jeopardizes the safety of others.
