What I meant was that in the 80s it was less violent and more hairspray.
Run DMC rapped about Adidas. Nowadays its about trap.
MMA is the popular martial arts sport now vs the traditional forms as in the Karate Kid. MMA is more intense. Raw.

I'd like to see a show where Run DMC rap battles those xanexed out mumbling zombies back into the ground on their way to solving the murder of Jam Master Jay. Too real though.
