Okay, he might be suffering from some form of dementia, but he has been advocating the same thing for at least 10 years. Please note what he thinks can happen, and wants to happen, were the Second Amendment repealed.

John Paul Stevens: Repeal the Second Amendment
Excerpt:
That support is a clear sign to lawmakers to enact legislation prohibiting civilian ownership of semiautomatic weapons, increasing the minimum age to buy a gun from 18 to 21 years old, and establishing more comprehensive background checks on all purchasers of firearms. But the demonstrators should seek more effective and more lasting reform. They should demand a repeal of the Second Amendment.

That's right, not a ban on "assault rifles" or even "assault weapons", but a ban on "semi-automatic weapons"! How long will it take them after that to get around to revolvers and shotguns? And shortly thereafter the remaining single shot firearms. "Give an inch, we'll take a mile."

Their narrative of "We don't want to take away anyone's guns" is such a bold faced lie. Some people think we're paranoid or delusional. That "We cling to our guns". This is the reason why. I'd expect more rational thinking from a SCOTUS judge.
This all goes back to taking away a kids toys when they don't behave. It's not the toy;s fault. Its the kids fault.

I hope the Hawaii legislatures 2a repeal resolution goes to committee and a vote. Get more excitement in the gun community.

Here's the money quote from those resolutions:
"BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the United States Congress is requested to consider and discuss whether the Second Amendment of the United States Constitution should be repealed or amended to clarify that the right to bear arms is a collective, rather than individual, constitutional right;"
HR167, HCR196, SR96, SCR178
Here are the people that think this is a good enough idea that they sponsored the bills:
ING, S. CHANG, K. RHOADS, RUDERMAN, Dela Cruz, Espero, Galuteria, Ihara, Inouye, L. Thielen, Wakai
{Note: Ruderman, Galuteria, and Espero are holding a fund raiser (https://2ahawaii.com/index.php?topic=31061.0) in the near future so you can "donate" $500 to them to help promote ending the individual right to keep and bear arms. Where's the pitchforks and rope when you really need them?]

As if Hawaii would create their own collective militia (other than the NG of course)...

We could actually thank Stevens' honesty and disclose what the Liberals goals really are. For years they have tried to enact additional gun Legilation restricting rights trying to make gun ownership a privilege all while trying to hide their true intentions. Stevens' comments could actually help embolden our position & the reduce the liberals ability to shove more down our throats in the immediate future.

Wait until the latest tax bill works it's magic and a US default causes the dollar to collapse. Then we'll wish we had one. The only people who know how to organize on a local level any more are gangsters. The politicians are only good for repeating DNC talking points and taking bribes from big business. Those skills are not very useful in a crisis.
