Where is that smarmy little bastard originally from? I get a strong stench of New York from him.
I know he is jewish, so he cannot claim Hawaiian ancestry very well.

According to his bio, his family moved to HI from Ann Arbor, MI, when he (and his twin brother) were two.
He went to CA to attend college, and spent a year in Kenya as part of the International Training Program.
He returned to teach at Punahou after earning his B.A. in philosophy. He then took other jobs in the non-profit sector before politics.
How long does someone need to live, work, & study in HI until they are accepted as "local?" Or is that just an ethnic term?

Can't say he did not reply to my Email.
Dear (insert Redneck, Gun toting, beer drinking "Deplorable" bastard)
Thank you for contacting me to express your concerns regarding gun control and Second Amendment rights.
My heart goes out to the victims and their families that have been affected by this tragedy. But warm words are not enough. Thoughts and prayers won’t stop this from happening again. It is time for Congress to finally stand up against gun violence and take action so this never happens again.
I have supported gun control efforts because I believe that we can protect the Second Amendment rights of Americans while preventing the kind of senseless gun violence that has affected communities across the country. I support bringing national gun control standards in line with the high standards already enforced in Hawaii, :shake:which have resulted in our state having the lowest number of gun deaths per capita in the nation. I also recognize the importance of protecting both public safety and Second Amendment rights and believe that we can have both.
While we may disagree on this matter, I hope that this has helped to clarify my position and that you will continue to stay in touch on issues important to you.
Sincerely,
BRIAN SCHATZ
U.S. Senator

local isn't determined by a time period, its an attitude or way of thinking and acting. it can be considered a good thing or a bad thing, depends in what context you are viewing it
is shitz local? hell no.
I remember when it was nearing election time and big island just had a big storm. he and hanabusa (I think it was hanabusa) went to big island to campaign
locals in Puna were short on food and water, and he had a photo op where he gave some guy from Puna 1 bottle of water as a gesture of helping the unfortunate
what an jackoff move that was.
if I were that local Puna guy, I would feel seriously disrespected by that gesture

Schatz and Hanabusa went to Puna about a week after Iselle hit, to campaign due to the postponed voting at two voting sites because of storm damage. After more than a week of no power, no water, etc., people would not only have gratefully accepted water from Schatz, but from a retarded monkey. But I repeat myself.

I'm willing to help with a shooting session for him so he can at least get some experience with guns. I could see Honolulu Firearms or Xring would be willing to have a after hours shooting session. I just need a person from District 2 that is willing to go to his office and invite him. D2 is rural Oahu (outside of Ewa/Mililani/Hawaii Kai) and outerislands.

Correct me if I am wrong but Senators do not have districts and serve the whole state, Representatives have districts due to the fact that the number of Representatives is dependent on the population of the state.

It's the same for Senators. They serve the State but give priority to their district. That's why you can only vote for one senator during elections. If the Senators were different and represented everyone in the state equally, then you'd be able to vote for both of them.

I must have slept through that part of civics... Well in that case he's my guy then I can invite him.

Cool. I'll check with the gun ranges. I'll let you know if it can be done.

I'm sure Stanley Ching would jump at the opportunity to say "I've been to the gun range twice".

I don't think so. (Maybe you're thinking of the state senators?)
https://www.govtrack.us/congress/members/HI
Each state elects two senators for staggered 6-year terms. Senators represent the entire state. Hawaii’s senators are:
Brian Schatz
Senior Senator
Democrat
Since Dec 27, 2012
Next Election in 2022
Mazie Hirono
Junior Senator
Democrat
Since Jan 3, 2013
Next Election in 2018

The reason you only see one Senator on the ballot is the other's term isn't almost up.
-
You can't vote for a candidate outside of your district. That's the whole point of having districts. What's the purpose of having congressional districts?

Schatz is a US Senator. He's not assigned to a district. We have 2 Senators in the US Congress, as do all other states and the District of Columbia. State population has no bearing on the number of US Senators.
Hawaii State Senators are assigned to 25 districts, 17 of which are on Oahu.
-
Ah I see, all States have 2 senators so districts aren't needed as it isn't split by population.
-
We have 2 Senators in the US Congress,
Neither of which represents our interests in D.C.
They do a good job for NYC and Massachusetts though.

We also have two representatives that are just as useless.
None of our Federal Representatives represent us.
They represent the Democrat party.

I was 18 years old and working on aircraft and crawling around armed nuclear
weapons. How scary is that?
I find this lady to be a DS that only got her job because of what is
in between her legs, which is true for most women in the military.
BTW
I knew which wire to cut and which switch to turn on, and Minot AFB and a good portion
of North Dakota would have disappeared. I was only 18 years old.

He would likely pee his pants and suffer PTSD like that weenie NYT urinaliyst that claimed shooting an AR-15 (5.56 no doubt) traumatized him.
No shiite, google it, it happened.
