Seems as though businesses are no longer behaving like businesses anymore.

I hope they start with the barrels 1st and the ATF is there. Dicks is crappy anyways, the Vegas one had more clothing than anything else. More like a Sports Authority. Compared to Cabela's or Bass Pro that has more equipment.

Fake news. I don't believe it. How do we know that Dick did not offload these "assault" rifles to another country such as Syria? Can we get an investigation going before we pass opinion?

When businesses stop acting like business and become political sounding boards, they do so at the risk of pissing off and alienating a portion of their stockholders and more importantly, customers, who may not subscribe to their political views.
They should stick to making decisions based on $ rather than politics. As a shareholder, I would be pissed off with management for wasting assets rather than mitigating against loss by selling off the stock that they no longer wish to carry rather than destroying it.
Maybe that's why its stock hasn't been doing so well lately.

I don't know that we have any Dicks sporting goods stores here. I do know when the
run up in .22 cal ammo cost occurred Dicks was at the lead of the pack, of price
increases.
They won't be missed.

Thus the name.......Dick. ;D

I used to shop at Big Five in Vegas but don't remember firearms in Sports Authority. I was surprised when I saw guns at the stores here (but no longer).
-
They could have sold the inventory to law enforcement agencies at a discount.

The bright side is it helps the firearms manufacturers sell more rifles.

They could have donated it to LE or other like agencies.

I've seen stories on Springfield Armory and now Mossberg canceling all sales to Dick's.
I hope all other gun makers follow that trend. It'll save the chain from their hypocrisy of banning sales of one type of rifle while still selling other firearms.

I stopped shopping at that stupid FUDD store after Sandy Hook. Expensive, lack of good selection, not pro 2nd amendment, and worthless.
