The Equus was a client so I'm familiar with them. They are surrounded on all sides so don't recall it overlooking anything except the Outback Steakhouse across the street. Not a very high profile hotel to shoot up if that was his plan. He could have been staging for rampaging the nearby Ala Moana Mall but why wouldn't he just start out from his residence instead of bringing his "arsenal" into the hotel. Perhaps this was a cry for help by leaving disturbing online messages and carting his stuff into a hotel.
