Here how the training will go:
1) Run
2) Hide/barricade
3) If all else fails, grab stuff to fight with
So their training should not last more than 2 minutes.

I seem to remember that they are doing them in many neighborhoods on the island
they must have gotten a grant or something

If you go, you should stir the pot and ask "what if I'm armed, how should 1 respond to an active shooter?". Just to see what they would say and the look on their face.

The president of the company saw me "pacing" the office. I was making my "plan" in case of an active shooter. He said it was a good idea and let him know what I come up with.
Unfortunately, no guns allowed inside the office. But many guys have bowie knifes in their desk drawers.

In order to enhance situational awareness, the Honolulu Police Department’s Major Events Division will present on the topic of active shooter and other similar critical incident situations. Discussions to raise awareness of active shooters’ possible characteristics and behaviors that may be pre-incident indicators and options to deal with active shooter situations will be included.
