I had a case failure with Tula 308 today. I was shooting my STG58 and I felt shit hit my face, which is not normal for this rifle. I checked the action and noticed a failure to feed. I then noticed that my magazine blew out the floor plate. The rifle is fine. The mag widened out at the base. I found the case, it was missing the primer and had a nice crack in the extractor groove.
This wasn't a huge deal, but feels like a near miss.
So... I am done with Tula. Forever. Not worth the risk.
I have 4 boxes left. I don't know what I should do with them. I bought from young guns when they were on sale, but I didn't keep the receipt.

Not sure why people keep bringing in tulammo.
Either wolf, brown bear, golden tiger (for fun) or gtfo.
-
probably should either sell it with a disclaimer or pull the bullet, powder, and primers, then reload into good brass.

The AK stuff work pretty well for me but then again it's an AK and will eat just about anything

Assume this is 7.62x39.
I’ve never shot that ammo, but from what I hear, folks shoot it by the case. Seems like it’s prettu widely available and cheap. I almost bought a case a while back, but ended up needing the cash for other things. I’ll definitely look into track record of this ammo before buying.
I’ve shot their .223 Rem stuff and it crappy and didn’t function well in my middy guns. I was hoping to test it out in a carbine gas gun as I suspected the carbine gas system would function better. But since then, the pricing on Tula has been same as brass ammo and hard to find, so I haven’t tried. My interest in the Tula .223 was when brass was like $500/1000 (or more) and could get Tula around $250/1000.

I thought about buying their 223 ammo when they had a sale. But the reviews on line for Tula weren't that great. They're a grade below wolf steel cased.
Ive used wolf steel case and had no issues, just dirty as hell. Wasn't worth my time to clean (8 mins with brass vs. 35 mins with wolf). And I read that Tula is dirtier than Wolf.
Many reviews of the Tula 223, people were reporting the base of the case being ripped/torn off. So to get the rest of the casing out was a PITA.

I remember a couple years ago right when tulammo switched to the zinc/silver color plating, 1 empty case out of a case of 1000 rounds got stuck in the chamber of my psa upper (new upper at the time) and I had to ram it out with a cleaning rod.
The rim of the casing was stripped too.
After that I was done with tulammo. Me and a friend shot it all and never bought any tulammo 223 since then.

I’ll take the remaining ammo for proper disposal. Doesn’t matter if you had the receipt or not ammo is a final sale non returnable item.

Contact the manufacturer. The more reports they get, the more likely they can identify a manufacturing problem and fix it. If nothing else, they may replace your ammo with a different batch.
Nothing gets fixed if you don't give people a chance to make it right.

"Nothing gets fixed if you don't give people a chance to make it right." Correcto Mundo!! This is what has made America great imo. And this is what a lot of us have forgotten.

Most reviews online (Cabelas, Dicks, Bass, etc..) reported about 1-3 rds per case. So that's not a high failure rate, but the type of failure sucks. Like you had, base being ripped off and casing stuck in chamber. I can deal with FTF or FTE's, but a stuck case ends your entire range day.

that is why its a good idea to bring a rod and some rube when you shoot.

I don't know how effective contacting the ruskies via their website will be, but i'll give it a shot.
I plan on shooting friday or saturday. The ammo is free to anyone who wants it.

Just curious, but are you swearing off Tulammo because of this one experience? Or combined with previous bad experiences as well?

I saw the stories on the interwebs and naively thought it wouldn't happen to me. As dubya says "Fool me once, shame on...shame on you. Fool me, you can't get fooled again."
Also, FAL mags are rare as hen's teeth these days. I can't be blowing them up.
